Helpful, kind and consistent care!

Pet care experience

*Update 2/28/24: Just something that I'm learning to ask my families about is heavy and toxic scents in the home. Most things that are artificial such as Glade, Lysol, Febreeze, etc are a definite no-can-do. I appreciate high quality oils, diffusers, a good incense cone every now and then. Sage burning and smudging- I completely get. Soy candles are nice with not heavy scents. I also appreciate fams who are giving good homes to kitties and facing the indoor catbox situation- everyday. Itsa tough gig, I know. I have experienced the household with indoor kitty and no scent- it is possible. The key was all-natural non synthetic scents. I'm a cancer recoverer. I'm certain you understand. Please let me know if any questions. Thank you for working with me! *Even if my calendar shows me as unavailable please feel free to message me any requests. If I can do it I will! I was raised in a family where pets are cherished and continued that throughout my 52 years with my own family. I know the importance of consistency and kindness in individualized care for pets. I've lived the life of working more than full time and raising a child all while having dogs (as well as other indoor creatures). I know the tremendous value of having a trusted soul to rely on to provide care, love and snuggle your pet when you're working a long day, have an unexpected delay or finally able to get a break from your beloved pup's routine. I'm open to discussing what your pet needs and making an individualized plan. Trips to the beach have been an everyday part of my life with my dogs- how lucky am I?! Every dog is different and I look forward to discussing the needs of your pet and how I can help. I have lot's of experience with behaviors and open to working with a family with a pup with a bit of naughtiness. Reach out and see if i could ne the scooper to your pooper!

Stacie is an amazingly compassionate and capable pet sitter. The girls love her and we feel great about having her as part of our dog care family.

Stacie is truly amazing! This was the first time our Jerry had an in-house pet sitter, and we cannot imagine anyone doing a better job. She followed all his care instructions, gave him tons of attention and provided him for lots of exercise and outdoor time. She was very respectful of our house as well. Jerry loved her! and we felt completely at ease. Highly recommend!

For over 40 years I've walked my own dogs each morning and night as well as they have had a line to access outdoors whenever possible. I have always cherished my dogs by keeping them exercised and happy! My dogs have always been my best companions and their care has always been a high priority as a family member. I will practice and expect super communication to the best of our abilities with kindness and honor. We decide on what your pet needs, what you expect, what I expect and agree on a plan with a laugh or two, for certain! I maintain privacy, confidentiality and uphold boundaries for anyone I work for/with.

A typical day

For over 40 years my pet experiences have included leash walking every morning and evening and as a working parent household always had school vacation and weekend hikes and adventures. City terrain, rocky beaches, sandy beaches, wood trails. My favorite is the beach! We live in such an amazing place! No matter the weather- we walk! I've been doing this a long time and it used to be that the dog parks in Portland were great. They are not so anymore. I have the luxury of an open and flexible schedule! I'm super active and mornings have always started early for me with a dog walk. I look forward to discussing if I can be a help to your family. I am very open to conversation of what your pup needs and if I can provide it!

I am fortunate to have lots of flexibility! I'm over three years out from beating colon cancer and making a strong comeback but am retired from my first career of working with kids and families. I'm recently no longer a Mom of anything in my home except my plants- a first in 27 years! My family tells me Rover is a better idea than immediately getting another pup. :) I spend my time between Little Deer Isle and Gray, Maine. I'm able to schedule in the future, possible availability last minute or regularly scheduled walks, jogs, fun playtime, daytrips, car rides, feeding/water, snuggling, pee/poopbreaks, treat time, work on commands, brushings, social interaction, beach time, trail time, support/help with vet trips, elder pup care, hospice love. I greatly miss the motivation of a walking partner! I know the difficulty of ensuring our pups getting sufficient exercise when life is hectic and demanding. I know the ease of mind that comes with knowing your pups have a kind, experienced and consistent caregiver showing up every time agreed upon. I understand the importance of communication- clear and concise. Let's talk about what your pup needs and how I can help out!
