I'll run and hike with your dog :)

Pet care experience

Took a long break from Rover due to some time abroad. Back because I wanted to spend some time again with my favorite four-legged friends! My work as a dog sitter began by chance as multiple friends noticed my ability to work well with dogs. At first, I was a part-time dog walker to an American Bulldog named Suess for a little over a year. After my client moved, I took a small break and began other work (teaching and grad school). In the past year, I had the pleasure of revisiting my passion by consistently house sitting for two friends of mine. Their dogs were a sweet Pitbull named Haven and a quirky French Mastif named Frank. The greatest feedback I received from my clients was my ability to create an organized schedule, while also providing solid discipline (as some were beginning to learn new rules) and fun for their dogs. By the end of my visits, their dogs became used to a routine and were also able to understand and respect boundaries. I am also a very active person who loves to hike and go for runs in the evening. If I have the pleasure of dog sitting over the weekend, I can guarantee a solid few hours of hiking and other forms of exercise outdoors :)

I first met Staci when she was walking my dog Roxie. It wasn't the easiest task; Roxie was very old in age and not warm to many people besides myself and immediate family. But, she took to Staci right away, and I saw that as a sign. Since then, Roxie has moved on, and I have recommended Staci to many of my friends. She certainly has a way with dogs, small or large, quiet or loud. She just seems to "get" them. And in response, they always seem to welcome her. At the end of the day, I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better person than Staci to care for your dog. She's a rockstar!

Staci is amazing with our pup Chica! She's very active outdoors which is perfect for Chica's high energy level. I also love that Staci knows how to be firm when needed to manage Chica's strong personality. Finally, Staci is an awesome person and is easy to communicate with for coordinating drop-off & pick-up. I always know that Chica will be fulfilled and handled well when she's in Staci's hands. Couldn't recommend a better person to look out for your dog.

I offer a safe space for your dog to feel comfortable and at home. Be aware for larger dogs that I live in 500 sq foot carriage house. It’s super cozy, but on the smaller size. There is, however, space for your dog’s crate and bed. I also have a fenced yard for the dog to come and go from inside to outside as they please. I just have to open the door for them. I can also run around with them to make sure they’ve burned off a lot of energy!

Information Staci L. would like to know about your pet

I am open to all breeds as I have walked some more challenging ones. I would only like to know their general interactions with other dogs and strangers.

A typical day

I live right next to Washington Park, so I can guarantee fun strolls or jogs in the afternoon and evening if I am house sitting in the Wash Park area. If the dogs are allowed to swim, I am also open to finding some outdoor watering holes while the weather is nice!
