Pet care experience
My first job was a grooming shop. Then I worked as a certified veterinary technician for three years in my 20s. I have been involved with animals ever since. I have raised 5 dogs and 3 cats, and fully trained two service dogs. I’ve helped friends and family with training, as well as temperament and body language interpretation. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and have always spent as much time with them as possible. Now that my daughter is an adult, I find myself with more time. What better than to spend it loving your pet? Have a leash tugger? Leave some of your dog’s favorite treats (the ones you almost never give) and we can fix that if you would like to schedule a few walks. I have experience giving injections, pills, eyedrops, bandaging, liquid oral medication, and capable of any home treatments necessary. I’ve worked with difficult dogs and cats, senior animals, puppies, and everything in between. I believe in positive reinforcement using lots of high-value treats. Every animal has the mentality of a small child and it’s all a matter of getting them interested in what you want them to do. I am available in the morning during the week, and flexible on the weekends. I’m also open to checking in on other animals such as ferrets and guinea pigs. If you need someone to drop in and check on your pets, or take them for a walk, please message me and we’ll work it out. Thank you for your consideration.
Reviews
I completely forgot to leave a review from the last time Stacey watched my dog. She saved me from a last minute trip planning issue. Arnold loved her and she submitted so many photos while I was gone it felt like I was there.
Our first time using the Rover service and Stacy M and we were beyond impressed. Stacy was wonderful! We loved the detailed reports and the photos that she sent us. She really took time with our pets during her visits, even going as far as removing some burs from our dogs paw and cleaning up when he pottied inside. It was a great feeling to know that they were being so well cared for. We highly recommend Stacy and will certainly be using her again when we visit. She is truly an animal lover and it shows.
This was our 2nd time booking Stacey and I cannot reiterate how AMAZING she is! We left the country for a week long vacation and we were able to relax knowing that our 20 year old sick cat was in Stacey's care. She gave him his multiple daily meds and fluids. She cleaned his litter daily and sent us the most thorough reviews, photos and videos that gave us such peace of mind while so far away from him. She even dealt with extra vomit with no complaint. She is so incredibly reliable and professional. We returned home to a clean, fed, happy and very well cared for cat. The absolute best cat sitter we have ever had! 5 stars!
Stacey is beyond amazing. I'm not sure I can truly express how much my dog and I adore her. I've been using Stacey pretty much consecutively since my pup was about 12 weeks old and she's almost 2 years now. She's always been on time, incredibly flexible and has great communication skills. My dog loves her so much and waits by the door for her on days she's not scheduled to come. Stacey goes above and beyond to make sure both my home and pup are taken care of. We love her and are going to miss her so much.

I love to take pups out for exercise. I also enjoy snuggling up and giving attention and animal massages. Most animals that are shy tend to open up quickly to me.
Information Stacey M. would like to know about your pet
How is your pet with strangers? Do you have anything that you are currently working on training? What is your pet’s favorite toy, and treat? Does your pet have any special concerns or needs? Is your dog a runner or a sniffer?
A typical day
Unless you have specific requests, my first priority is food, water, and potty. After that, if you have a dog, we will spend time playing with toys (fetch and tug). Once that no longer holds their interest, we will do drills of any obedience and or tricks they know. Finally, they get snuggles and scratches. If you have booked a walk, the focus is potty and exercise. I try to go at a brisk pace to get as close to a mile in 30 minutes as possible. Leash manners are important, and is something we work on, unless you prefer your dog to set the pace. Cats are simply spoiled. Once food, water and litter are out of the way, it’s time for their favorite toys. I will try to burn them out. Once they are not really interested in playing, it’s time for snuggles and scratches.
