Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs in my family and currently have a retired racing greyhound named Sandy and a border collie whippet named Enna. They are my world! We love going to the pet store, the dog park, and playing brain games at home. Choosing me to look after your special buddy means you're getting someone with a lifetime of experience with animals and a natural passion for pet care. I've walked, sat, and come to love dogs of a variety of ages and sizes. From rambunctious puppies to mature adults and everything in between. Whether we're just going for a walk or your dog is coming to stay they can look forward to long walks in their home neighborhood or on the levee here in our neighborhood. I've got a chuck-it so they can expect some fetch too if they're up to it! I mostly work from home part-time, so you won't have to worry about your friend being left for long stretches by themselves. We also have a fenced yard, so potty breaks are a breeze. I can't wait to get to know your furry loved one. Let's set up a meet and greet to get things started!

We have a fenced-in yard, so they are able to go out to potty or sunbathe (Enna’s favorite) as frequently as they need. My personal philosophy for a happy, healthy dog is threefold- 1. A wholesome diet is the foundation for sustainable physical AND mental health. You get out what you put in. A lot of preventative measures can be taken if they get the proper nutrition and supplementation i.e. joint support, digestive support, etc. 2. Regular exercise and socialization is the goal and the cure. Dogs are happiest, healthiest, and best behaved when they are able to BE a dog. Movement, exploration, playing with other dogs or humans, dogs need these activities to keep their bodies and spirits healthy. 3. You can run a dog out all day, but if their minds aren’t working, too, they’re going to get bored and restless and that’s when destructive behavior starts. Incorporating activities that stimulate their minds, especially for working breeds, makes a huge difference in behavior and disposition.

Information Stacey B. would like to know about your pet
It would be helpful to know your dog's name, age, and breed before we meet. When it comes to walking/in-home care/drop-in visits I'm open to most breeds/ages/sizes. When it comes to boarding/daycare I'd prefer to host dogs under 100lbs.
A typical day
If your dog will be staying with me they can be sure they'll get to know Algiers Point! There's a long trail that follows the river on the levee with lots of open green spaces for playing and plenty of shady streets to wander down if the sun's a bit too intense. We also regularly go to the Gretna dog parks, Cabrini in the French Quarter, and City Bark, so we can all go there as well. I'm home most of the day, so I'll be around to see to their needs. Food? Play? Potty break? All of these can be easily accommodated in our home. If your pet is a snuggler, I don't mind them sleeping on the bed or the couches. If they're crate-trained, there's plenty of room for that too. I keep treats in the cupboard and there are always a couple toys laying around, Sandy and Enna are very good at sharing. They have dog friends over often and regularly go to visit other dog friends.

Pet care is a regular part of my life. Our day starts with the dogs going out to potty and then having breakfast. Both dogs have special needs, so meals involve making sure all the proper medications and supplements are in order. The dogs eat twice a day with snacks in between, especially after vigorous exercise. We try to make it to the dog park 2-3 times a week and to get out for a walk at least once a day. I try to give the dogs a thorough brush out, nail trim and/or ear cleaning once a week. Full bath every two weeks. I always rinse them off after playing at the dog park.
