From growing up in an animal mad household, with everything from dogs, rodents, parrots, chickens, ducks, terrapins and tarantulas (to name a few!) I am now a willing servant to my Cocker Spaniel Lola, my ferrets Ferdinand, Feodora and Fuego, and my two cats Olive and Ozzy. The ferrets live outdoors and the cats have a catio which comes in handy when cat testing new dogs - owners constantly tell me their dogs aren’t good with cats and 85 percent of them leave us as cat friendly/tolerant. I am vegan for the animals, Lola is a certified therapy dog, and my lifelong dream is to one day have a small holding so I can have my own little animal sanctuary. While your average child asked for a bike for Christmas, I would ask for books about dogs and spend my days reading about all the different breeds and their individual needs. I am first aid trained, knowledgeable with regards dog behaviour, positive re-enforcement training, canine enrichment and I have first hand experience with a wide variety of different dog breeds. Having animals of my own I can completely relate to the anxiety of leaving them in someone elses care so I do all I can to ease that for you. Prior to booking I'll offer a meet and greet so you and your dog can get to know Lola and myself and see if i'm the right sitter for you. During stays I'll send pupdates all day long! I work from home and live near lots of green spaces and a country park with a lake, so we enjoy lovely long walks each day and love to take new friends along. With your permission we may also venture out on hikes or beach days. Lola is a gentle and social little soul. She has passed her wild pup days and is now generally calm in nature so she is perfect for putting nervous/timid dogs at ease as well as teaching important boundaries for any over enthusiastic pups.
