Pet care experience
I am an individual who accepts animals for who they are. Whether that be a dog who is afraid of the world, or who will pull you 45 feet to get that squirrel they absolutely have to get. Or a cat who needs to have their own boundaries set immediately as to where and when they can receive attention. I have never turned away from an opportunity to watch, walk, volunteer, care for, treat, or play with an animal who wants to! I have some experience in puppy and general dog training, I have trained my last two dogs. My current pup knows over a dozen tricks (any fun suggestions please let me know, currently working on opening and closing cabinets!) I also genuinely enjoy walking and hiking so being outdoors in any whether is always an okay thing for me! I have a fairly flexible job, though I do work full time. I usually leave work early most days and would be able to set up a schedule if needed to accommodate!

I have had Sophie S watch my dog on many occasions. He loves when she comes. He stands at the window wagging his tail when he sees her and then runs to the door. She is warm, friendly and loving and a terrific caregiver. She sends me pictures while we are away. She has even taught our dog a few tricks that he did not know before. I trust her completely. You will not go wrong if you have Sophie care for your pet while you are away. A++

Sophie is an extremely caring pet owner. I currently don't have any pets, but I have feel extremely comfortable if they were in Sophie's care. Another thing that makes her a great pet caretaker she always puts 110% into everything that she does.
Sophie has done a great job caring for my pets over the years. She has done well with both dogs and cats. She is reliable and knows animals well! Sophie even knows a good amount about training which helped when I first got my pets.

I do live in a smaller apartment with my own dog and two cats. For the most part, cats won't approach any new animals in my home. I just need to know whether or not any animal coming into my home will act aggressively or prey driven towards them. My dog is very friendly. She is a sweetie who will want to run and play whenever she can! She has gotten along with dogs smaller and larger than her, has no problems around resource guarding, and walks well with other dogs outdoors. Would just need assurance that our pups can be besties!!

Le time know if your dog takes any medications, has any allergies, and special care instructions, or any behaviors I should be aware of before interacting with them! If you plan to board with me, I do need to have a meet and greet with my dog first to ensure that everyone can be besties! And to ensure that everyone is okay with cats!
A typical day
I love to take dogs on long walks, whether that be in my or your neighborhood, or a local park, or for overnight or weekend stays going to a national park in the area for a hike! I also love to challenge dogs mentally to understand communication through training!

Availability
I currently work full time in health care but have fairly flexible schedule to work around pet care. I am free early mornings and early afternoon into evenings, along with most weekends! I am also very active always walking around 4 miles a day and often going on 6 mile+ hikes on the weekends!
