Hello, there! Thanks for meandering over to my profile! I'm Sophie. I am a 28 year old artist/actress/filmmaker with an intense love for animals (if the 10 years of pet sitting experience didn't tip you off!) I grew up in Virginia with many pets around at any given time and I began to pet sit for friends and friends of friends when I was 18. It seemed only natural to take my business to the next level in NYC with Rover! Plus, I can't have pets in my building and I genuinely crave their company! I find animals so soothing. No matter what type of animal you have, I have probably cared for it. I've looked after dogs, cats, birds to rabbits, chickens, and goats (yep, Virginia). I love getting to know your furry family member and I make a point to stay as communicative as possible, especially with new clients, sending photos and updates (but don't worry, I will not bombard you...unless you want me to!) You truly do not have to worry when I am caring for your pet. At this point, I have seen it all (famous last words...) Currently I work in a cafe in Williamsburg three days a week. With enough notice (usually a week to two weeks) I can request off days when I am pet sitting if your dog needs more frequent potty breaks. I try to request off at least most days I pet sit anyways just so I can provide the best home care possible. Thanks for checking me out! Feel free to ask me anything. Sophie was an absolutely amazing cat sitter for us! We contacted her extremely last minute due to a family emergency, and not only did she come through for us, she even rearranged her schedule so she could meet us in our limited timeframe at our apartment before we left. She really worked with us in every way during such a stressful time on our end. While we were out of town, she was communicative, sent photos and responded quickly when we texted her to check in. I was never once concerned for our cat's well being as I knew they were in great hands. When we returned home, our cats were very happy, under no stress whatsoever, and almost seemed disappointed to see us and not Sophie! Our home was very clean, and it was clear she took care of both our cats and our home while we were away. I cannot recommend Sophie highly enough, and am forever grateful to her for allowing our focus and attention to be solely where we were, and not worried about the little ones at home. Thank you again Sophie!
This was the first time we left our dog for more than a weekend and the first time we left her with someone we didn't know. Luckily for us, Sophie was great with Ellie. I really appreciate that Sophie took time out of her day to meet with me and Ellie before the stay so we could make sure they got along. She even came half an hour before we headed to the airport to make sure Ellie was at ease before we left. Our apartment looked just like we left it and we got several pictures throughout the stay. Even with the difference in time zones, Sophie was always prompt to respond to our messages. We will definitely book with Sophie again when we travel without Ellie.
Sophie was great when taking care of my cat. He requires medication which she gave no problem. Will definitely book again.

No breed preferences! Just tell me a little about your dog. Every dog, like every person, has their quirks/preferences so just give me a small description. Though I have never had a problem with large dogs, I am a petite person and would just have to make sure I can control your dog on a walk if he/she is very large and strong and happens to see a squirrel. I have given dogs pills in pockets and with a pill popper. I also have experience administering insulin to a cat, though it has been a few years.
A typical day
Activity number one: snuggling! I can't help myself. I love going to parks and finding bits of green to play and lounge on, just like your dog! I trained a friends dog to catch pop up tennis balls in their yard and bring it over to me in under an hour and would love to try that with your pooch! The basic tricks (sit, shake, lay down etc) are always fun, too, whether your pup knows them yet or not I love practicing with them!
