Pet care experience
I graduated with an animal science degree from the University of Vermont in 2022 and was a veterinary technician for 5 years. I am now a human nurse in the ICU. I have 2 dogs of my own, Bentley and Hobbes, who are german shorthaired pointers. In my free time I love walking, running, hiking, and skiing, as well as hanging with my own pups, who are often on my outdoor adventures with me. I am comfortable with dogs/cats of all sizes, temperaments, and medical status. I am also comfortable and confident with different "exotics" and enjoy caring for rabbits, chickens, horses, and other farm animals, as well as our scaly and slithering pals. I am very comfortable caring for high-energy breeds and enjoy exercising their mind/body with walks, runs, and treat games. I have dog sat for many different pets, who all have their own quirks, and I am happy to cater to their needs, whatever they are :)

So happy with Sophie and the care she provided for our Juniper. She spent the day with her at our home while she recovered from surgery. It was very clear from the moment she first arrived that she was great with dogs and knew what she was doing. She sent updates throughout the day and I had full confidence that Juniper was happy and taken care of while I was at work. We’d be more than happy to book with Sophie again.

We are SO grateful to have found Sophie to take care of our cat, Raven. Raven is an older cat who needs medication and attention twice per day, and Sophie knew exactly how to administer the medication and treat Raven with care. Sophie visited our home to petsit for 3 days while my husband and I were away, and sent us photos and an update each time that she visited. We have never felt so at ease leaving Raven with a petsitter. Thank you so much!!
Sophie has grown up with dogs. Currently she has two German Short Haired Pointers at home. They are very high energy. Sophie has always managed the training and exercise of her two loved ones. Now that she if off at college there will be some other very lucky canines to be able to receive her love and care. She is currently studying Pre Vet as she continues on the road to Vet School.

A typical day
I love exploring new places and the outdoors with my pups, and would enjoy doing the same with yours! I like to take walks at the dogs pace- stopping to sniff and enjoy the world around us. I also love going for runs with my pups, and would be happy to do the same with yours if that's something they're used to. I am also able to give more structured walks/games if asked ! :)
