Pet care experience
I’m (almost) 21 years old and I’ve never not had a dog. I currently have just one small boy and he’s very sweet and docile. I’m a health major honors student taking only online classes for now. I’m a certified Nursing Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician, and am CPR certified as well. I grew up on a farm caring for various types of animals and have experience with older animals and administering different types of medications. I can pass a background check with flying colors.:) Pet-sitting is my only job aside from school so I’m almost always at home. I will happily video chat or text you photos of your dog at almost any time for your peace of mind. I don’t believe in keeping animals in crates so I will only board dogs who are house-trained and get along well with other dogs. 3% of my earnings on Rover go to the Anti-Cruelty Society. Hire me for a trustworthy, seasoned and energetic pet-sitter.

Thank you so much for watching Clint!
Since I've known Sophie, she's always shown the utmost compassion and responsibility to the animals in her care. She found the dog she currently owns as a stray, and she took the responsibility for housing him and restoring him to full health. The difference in her dog before and after she rescued him is almost miraculous; he is now a perfectly happy and healthy dog living in a safe and loving household. I think Sophie's experience with animals and the responsibility she takes for their care should give anyone confidence when considering her as a potential sitter.
I let lil red babysit my dog River when he got too old to go on hunts with me. He’s an old grouch but hes always loved Soph, he never complained to me once!
Growing up with Sophie I watched her raise chickens, rabbits, bees, cats, dogs and more. I bought chicken pullets from her once and she taught me everything I know, helped me build a coop and fixed them up when they were sick. One time she saved one of my hens from choking with some kind of oil massage and she rehabilitated one with a broken wing. She’s always saving and rehoming all kinds of critters. She really has a knack for that stuff.

Information Sophie G. would like to know about your pet
I do not discriminate against large or stereotypically aggressive breeds, such as pit bulls or chihuahuas. I’m only concerned with temperament. I will turn away dogs who are; -aggressive towards humans or other animals -rowdy enough to cause damage to my home or it’s contents -not trained to relieve themselves outside -too loud/constantly barking
A typical day
Playing with and walking dogs is the best part of the job. I’ll run, walk, play frisbee and ball with them, depending on their energy level and what they’re into. My apartment complex has a dog park and 6+ miles of hiking trails that I use for this. I avoid walking dogs on roads for their safety and my own. I do like to spoil them with toys and treats so let me know what my limitations on that are. I personally don’t teach dogs demeaning tricks or use physical punishment for bad behavior. I only use praise and verbal reprimands to teach them appropriate behavior. If bad behavior persists the dog may no longer be welcome, depending on severity.
