Pet care experience
I have had pet dogs all my life and have been responsible for walking and caring for them since I was a teenager. I have used Rover since August 2022 but before that I cared for family and friends dogs. I have also cared for other pets like cats, guinea pigs, fancy rats, and hamsters. I am able to do check in visits for cats and small animals and may be able board small pets.

Sophie is a really safe pair of hands for my two rescues. Her home is quiet and calm and she is very diligent about making sure they are settled, eating well and enjoying their walks and keeps me posted on how they're doing. They now seem to recognise her and are excited to arrive at her house which gives us the reassurance we need!
Bruce is always happy to stay with Sophie for daycare. I know my dog is well looked after when in her care

I have a fenced paved back garden. I usually do two short walks, or one longer walk. If your dog needs longer than 30-40 mins a day please let me know. Dogs are allowed downstairs in the kitchen and sitting room. There is a gate on the stairs so they can't go upstairs. Dogs are allowed on the furniture. Dogs aren't allowed upstairs or in my bedroom as I have pet fancy rats upstairs. I have a stair gate. The dogs cannot get to the pet rats, but may be able to hear or smell them which sometimes can make them quite agitated, which is something to bear in mind.

Please let me know any behaviour issues like chewing, barking, peeing inside, nervousness etc. I can deal with most things but need to know in advance! Please also let me know how your dog is with other pets, especially dogs and small mammals (I have fancy rats). I unfortunately can't take very strong dogs who pull as I have a knee injury.
A typical day
I always walk dogs on the lead. I typically walk them along the canal, Ghelevelt park and Perdiswell leisure centre. At home I often play fetch with the ball or tug of war with a pull toy and they have access to the garden.

Availability
I work Monday to Friday but do partial work from home. We can work out what would be suitable for your dogs needs but I may not be able to give round the clock care in the week. My brother also lives with me and can help take care of the dogs. I am available in the evenings and weekends.
