Pet care experience
I have lived with animals my whole life, and they are a huge part of my life! I have experience with dogs ranging from a small, finicky, delicate Pekinese to a huge, strong, playful boxer, so I am comfortable with any range of sizes and needs. I also have experience with cats (including my beautiful 5 year old tortie Franklin and our two other cats), aquarium care, small animals, reptiles/amphibians, and more. I have experience with caring for multiple animals at once, an age range from very young animals to seniors, experience giving medication and accommodating other particular needs, and fostering previously feral animals with behavioral needs. I have taken care of other people's pets for the past 10 years, and I feel very equipped to respect the needs of both the animals and their owners. I find myself quickly attuned to the personality of the animal I am caring for, I adore being around animals, and I put in a lot of effort to be sure they feel just as much joy to see me as I do to see them!

Sophia did an incredible job with my Rosie! All instructions were followed perfectly for my senior dog - especially with her meds - and I received frequent check-ins about Rosie's activities, health, and happiness throughout the trip alongside some really cute pictures. I came back to a very happy and well-loved dog and a clean apartment, no problems at all. I highly recommend Sophia to anyone looking for a fun and super accommodating sitter who will love your dog as much as you do.

I will ensure to respect your home, I am comfortable crating a pet if needed or separating pets that need some space, or making myself available for lots of reassurance for an anxious pet. I don't have breed preferences, as I love them all! I would like to know about what a dog likes and doesn't like so that they will be comfortable and happy, places they are typically comfortable and not comfortable being touched, any injuries, if the dog is friendly with other animals and people, and any temperamental needs.
A typical day
We will walk around, making sure that your dog gets plenty of exercise and sees new sights and people (if comfortable)! We will play and walk together, side by side. I've found that dogs adore when you match their pace, either turning it into a friendly competition or walking calmly with them down the street.

I am working part time on multiple projects, and luckily, remote work gives me the flexibility to care for pets in a timeframe that can fit with varied schedules. With some notice, I can make most arrangements work!
