Positive and patient pet sitting
Pet care experience
Hello and thank you for considering me to take care of your pets! I've grown up with animals and spent much of my time petsitting dogs, cats, horses, chickens and even swans throughout college and high school. I work professionally in animal rescue and have acquired a few critters in the process! I own three wonderful dogs and a sassy kitty that I love to pieces. I've taken dogs through respective Canine Good Citizens certifications and even participated in special tricks and agility classes with them! My time in rescue has also allowed me to become well versed with fearful and reactive dogs (and sometimes cats), so I'm always comfortable accommodating any special needs. I am fear free certified and have gone through many positive reinforcement and conflict free training classes, as well as worked one-on-one with several certified canine (and feline!) behaviorists. Animal behavior and psychology is a huge passion of mine, so I always try my best to understand your pet's needs and make them as happy as possible! FOR NEW CLIENTS: I operate on a first come, first serve basis - meaning your dates are held starting when you reach out (no payment required to hold your spot). -I typically offer one complimentary meet and greet so your pet(s) have a chance to get acclimated, and you have a chance to get to know me and ask any lingering questions! -If it seems like a good fit, I'll go ahead and officially book whatever service you've requested (payment would be expected at this time through Rover, but let me know if for any reason you need to officially book at a later date)! -For fearful/reactive pets, I find that many owners prefer doing multiple meet and greets -- this can be a great way for your pet to get comfortable in a low stakes environment. For pets requiring multiple meet and greets, let's chat! I typically charge a minimal "drop-in" fee for this service and am happy to discuss in more detail depending on the situation. :) OTHER FAQS: What if the dates I need are blocked off on your calendar? -Feel free to reach out anyways! Sometimes my calendar doesn’t get updated as quickly as I would like, so I never have any issue with clients double checking. :) What if you’re out of my radius? -I’m happy to chat and see if we can work something out! Do you bring your personal pets along to a booking? -Absolutely not! My partner stays with our pets while I’m away, so your fur babies will have my full attention. Rover is saying you require more notice - what should I do? -Yes, I do typically ask for 2 weeks notice for new clients. This is so we have time to get to know each other and set up a meet and greet for your pets to get comfortable with me! However - it never hurts to reach out anyways! If we can figure out a way to make it work, I’m happy to help. :)

Thank you Sophia! Great job as always 😍
Having someone watch our cats and house while we were out of town was great for peace of mind, and Sophia did an excellent job. Thank you, Sophia!
Sophia watched my dogs and house while we were away for the day. She followed all instructions and was super responsive. Thank you for taking good care of our babies!
Sophie was so great! It was our first time leaving our pup and she sent pictures and reassured us that he was a good boy! She answered all of my questions and put my anxiety at ease leaving him with someone.

Every pet is different, so my policy is always to be "loose and wiggly" to their needs. I believe in creating a positive, patient and safe environment for your pet while you're away so they can still be their happy self when you come home to them!
Information Sophia K. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know of any special needs (behavioral or medical) or specialized training protocols your pet has and I’d be happy to accommodate! Although, for safety reasons, I will never use any negative reinforcement training or training tools on your pet (i.e, no prong/bark/shock collars, etc.). Unless it is a puppy under a year old or a special circumstance, I do not watch pets that are not spayed or neutered.
A typical day
Depends on your pet! If they want to snuggle on the couch, no problem. If they need a fenced in yard to get their zoomies out, I’m all in! If they enjoy other dogs, I am happy to arrange some playdates with my crew while I watch them.
