I have been working with animals my whole life. Since my dad is an animals services officer down in Southern California, he would often bring home a variety of pets that need to be cared for until they are treated. This is where I learned how to handle sick, injured, and unwanted pets. I also am comfortable working with several pets at a time. I once assisted my dad in delivering three puppies from our dog who was giving birth. At times, my dad would take me on ride alongs at his work where I was able to feed and spend time with all the dogs at the local shelter. My biggest accomplishment was when I travelled to Guatemala in order to volunteer at an animal shelter to help the dogs in need. Each day, I was lucky enough to be able to feed each dog, wash all their bowls and cages, bathe them, walk, and play with them. My goal during my time in Guatemala was to provide a healthier living environment for stray dogs in third world countries. This experience truly helped me discover my passion for dogs as I witnessed each of them become overjoyed when I worked with them. Working with dogs has got to be one of the most joyful jobs that a person have and I am eager to meet so many wonderful animals!
