Hello! I'm Sophia. I attend Auburn vet school! I have been dog/cat-sitting since I was 15. Because my mother is a veterinarian, I have been around animals my entire life (I grew up with a 4 dog, 2 cat minimum in our household) and was partially responsible for their care since I was 10. The best compliment anyone has ever given me? A client once told me: "Ella and Max are usually velcro dogs after I leave for an extended period of time, but this time, they barely even cared I came home!" I care about your pet like they're my own, and I understand the need for structure and routine when their owner leaves. I'm calm in a crisis, and because I've been working as a veterinary technician, I know what to do if something goes wrong! I understand the patterns that pets often fall into when their owner leaves (not eating, changing normal habits, etc) and I have tricks and tools to make sure they are happy and engaged while I'm with them. When I'm sitting, we go on daily walks and spend lots of time together, because they are my priority.

Sophia was a godsend! She and her sweet pup Petra took great care of our puppy BellaBlu! She sent pictures and videos and was great at communicating and following our ridiculous schedule! We are so sad she is moving but will definitely use her again before she leaves!! Can’t give her enough ⭐️!
Our Pets (2dogs and our cat) where vet happy when we returned home! The pictures of the dogs playing were very sweet :)

Sophia is the best! She is always so caring and attentive with Fluffy! Fluffy is older, blind, and sometimes struggles with movement and Sophia is someone I know I can trust to look out for her. She is great at making dogs feel comfortable and safe, and she can always get Fluff to take her meds at night. Sophia is friendly, reliable, and always my first choice when I need someone to help with my dog.

I like to do a home-visit to meet the pets and learn the routine WITH the pet's guardian before I sit for them! This is so I can watch exactly what the guardian does and how they do it, which is so important when ensuring their pets feel comfortable and safe as possible. Dogs rely on routine and structure, and even slight variations to their normal feeding or playtime schedules can make them uninterested. Do you use a special word or phrase when feeding? Do you have a special walk you like to take in the morning? Do they like to sleep in a certain place? Do they have a specific bowl for mornings and then ANOTHER special bowl for evenings, because they are very special pups? Is your dog wildly chill and doesn't really care? Sounds good.
