Pet care experience
There was always at least 4 animals in my house growing up! Dogs, cats, birds, and horses. While some kids' first job growing up was baby sitting, mine was pet sitting. At 13, I was pet sitting farm animals to indoor-only pets. Today I have 2 cats, and they are my whole world. I've never not had a dog in a living space, and I miss it! Although my apartment is too small to comfortably have one. And as much as I would love for my kitties to love being on a leash -- it's not happening. Growing up in CDA, I'm use to being very active! Now, not so much. It feels weird going on a hike or to the park or the lake without a dog. So if you want your pet to be on vacation while you are too, I'm your gal!

I believe animals have souls, and just want to be loved and live life like the rest of us. But sometimes we have to go off without them, and that's ok! I believe in consistent updates when I'm away from my fur babies, and I promise I'll do the same for you. I prioritize sincerity and honesty, and hold myself to the standard that I give those who pet-sit my own animals. I'd prefer any concerns or comments in the beginning, rather than have surprises (especially at times when it's harder to get ahold of the owner). I also live by the phrase "it's not personal unless you make it personal"-- Please don't hesitate to be completely honest about your expectations for me and what I should expect from your pet. We'll both appreciate it in the end!

Any triggers that you know your dog may react to (touching of the paws, other passing dogs, men, children, loud noises, etc.), and how you personally combat them. If I experience anything that wasn't accounted for, I'll assume it's a new behavior, and will communicate to you details.
A typical day
Growing up our dog was a member of the family, so whether we were shopping, going on hikes, walking downtown, or eating out, the dog came with! As summer approaches, I'm very aware of the temperatures that can cause leaving a dog in the car unsafe. As well as the temperature of pavement. If there are any activities that are not walking in the neighborhood or going to the park (such as going to lucky peak to swim), I will wait for permission from you (the owner) before going on said adventures.

Availability
I only work 4 days a week, so I have 3 day weekends. On my weekends, I like to sew, read, and netflix. I grew up a very outdoorsy person, being from Coeur d'Alene, and I'd like to enjoy it again. It just feels weird enjoying it without a dog! And because of my small apartment, I have to be at peace with just having 2 cats as companions for now.
