Pet care experience
My first job was as a 10 year old when I papered my neighbourhood to walk my neighbours dogs. I had three dogs within a week. That quickly evolved into taking care of their dogs when they went out of town. I loved it. I still do. I was fortunate to grow up in a household with dogs, we weren’t able to have cats, my brother was allergic. But would have loved them just as much. I care for animals like they are a part of my own family, I’m the loving aunt that everyone loves to visit because she’s got the good treats and she’s going to spoil you with love and affection. I’m comfortable and confident around all breeds, big, small, medium, active and lethargic.

Sonya was absolutely amazing. We needed a house/dog sitter for our Papillon Louie at very short notice and Sonya jumped tight in. Louie is a very anxious rescue and typically doesn’t trust strangers to touch him, but he was cuddling with her the first evening. He bonded with her so quickly! I got lots of texts telling me how he’s doing and pictures of him happily padded out in her lap. Sonya left our place spotlessly clean and even washed the bed linens, which I wasn’t expecting her to do. She is fantastic and I am planning to use her services again soon.
Sonya was awesome. She went above and beyond to take good care of our boy Rudy. She was flexible to our schedule and arrived with a smile and treats. She was also a delight to talk to and Rudy adored her! Would definitely have her care for Rudy again!
Sonya was fantastic! This is the first time we have left a pet sitter with our 17-year-old Chihuahua and three-year-old pointer, who was a pandemic puppy, and only had been with us. They took to her immediately. She sent us pictures throughout the 24 hour stay, and when we came home, they clearly were very happy and well taken care of, and even a bit exhausted from all the playing. I would highly recommend her and we will definitely see Auntie Sonya again.

I am not allowed dogs in my current home, much to my heart break. But in someone else’s home I would ensure they have the meals that have been allocated l, outdoor breaks as needed, wiping of the paws before coming back in, clearing out eye gunk, and getting fresh water daily, or as required, for them.

Let me know if your pet has allergies, how they interact with other dogs, humans, and other animals in general, ie. loves to chase squirrels, etc.
A typical day
Depending on where the dog(s) are located and what their needs are, there’s lots of options; walks, hikes, beach time, or lake time. Do they like to play? Bring on the toys, balls, etc. There will definitely be cuddles and tummy rubs, and likely a good puppy massage. But every dog is different so I like to cater to their needs.

I do not currently have any pets but would be open to go walking or taking a dog or two out for a weekend hike.
