Before a house-sit, I like to set up a phone call or virtual meet & greet so you can get to know me better and vice versa. During that time, we'll review key questions such as allergies, medications, dietary requirements, fears and triggers, interaction with dogs & children, and other things (I have a list I like to use for a quick run-through). During your absence, I'll send daily messages and photos / videos. I know it can be difficult to be away from your fur baby so I'll be in consistent and proactive contact to help put your mind at ease and confirm that your furry family member is safe, loved, & well cared for!

I find it fascinating how dogs sniff EVERYTHING! It's like they're getting the daily neighborhood news! ? So unless you have expressly requested only exercise-type walks, I like to take leisurely strolls sometimes and just let your fur baby sniff and explore at its own pace during the walk. I like to think of the “sniff-a-thon” walks as mental enrichment! ? We'll also get active outside! So many dogs spend HOURS in a house sleeping and laying around when their human parents aren't at home, so when they're with me, we'll get outside for some fresh air & sunlight. I'll let them run, play… and socialize & have fun with other dogs (only if you permit it!)… in a safe environment. And of course, I'll give them lots of head & ear scratches and some good belly rubs!
