Pet care experience
I am a college graduate, wife, and animal lover with an entire lifetime of experience with pets! I worked as a dog trainer beginning in 2018, and extending through spring of 2019 until I relocated. I currently work at a barn with horses as well as at a local animal clinic. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and utilize a system of positive reinforcement and balanced training, tailored to an individual’s needs. I take pride in my knowledge and application of dog psychology, body language, and training. My own Shiloh Shepherd is four years old and the most social, friendliest bear who loves other dogs and adores people. I’m looking forward to meeting and caring for your pets! I had used Sonja in the past and was thrilled to see she was walking dogs again when I needed someone to walk Hazel. Although it had been several months since Hazel had seen her, she was over the moon when she recognized her (about 3 seconds after Sonja came inside)! That spoke volumes! Hazel is young, strong and can be a handful but I have every confidence in Sonja’s ability to deal with these challenges.
Sonja was a huge help with our dogs. Both large dogs, one can be reactive and protective but Sonja was completely confident in her approach and all went smoothly, he was nothing but happy to see her! She is very communicative and thoughtful in her approach when unexpected issues pop up. Highly recommend!!

I do need to know if your dog is dog reactive or resource guards. I will petsit these dogs, but cannot offer in-home boarding, as I do have a very friendly dog of my own that I don’t want to put at any potential risk.
A typical day
I have plenty of trails near my home to take the dogs out on! I have a big bin of toys to play tug and fetch. There is also an enclosed dog park in my neighborhood that I can take the pups to if you wish. I also have a few puzzle and enrichment games for the dogs to enjoy!
