Your fur baby's home away from home
Pet care experience
I am a full time student at Temple University studying Neuroscience. For as long as I can remember, and the stories my mother tells me from when I was a baby, I have always loved dogs, and all animals for that matter. While I am a full time student, I begin classes at 10 and end at 2:30 every other day (MWF) with plenty of time between classes to check on the dogs in my home. I treat each dog I care for like it's my own. I understand that this is not a toy, but rather a family member. When your dog stays in my home, I'll provide it with the care and attention it needs so that it has the most comfortable stay while you're away. I make ample time to play, walk, and feed your dog while also letting he/she relax and settle in. I have dog-sat for seven years and have had two dogs of my own with different breed requirements, so I can easily adapt to a dog that's a sprinter, a couch potato, or an in-betweener! Leaving your dog is hard to do but I can assure you that your dog will be completely comfortable and happy in my home.

Lola is our calm pup, while Ellie can be a lot more active. But once Ellie gets to know you, she will be a cuddle bug! We got a picture with Ellie on Soniya’s lap So, I’m pretty sure she liked her! It was a successful stay as far as we were concerned
I hesitated to write this review but feel it’s the right thing to do. Soniya was wonderful with her initial communication and idea of setting up a meet and greet to make sure she and my 2 dogs felt comfortable with each other. My profile says no dogs, no cats and no children. I explained ahead of time my dogs are not great with other dogs so to please be careful and cross the street to avoid leash aggression. When I arrived to drop my dogs off, there was another puppy present staying in the apartment, just for the day I was told. I said this was going to make my dogs super anxious and on edge with a puppy barking behind the door of another room in the apartment. This also made me anxious leaving them there for 10 days. Soniya provided good updates and pictures while I was traveling. I wrote instructions for food and medication both on paper and sent over text. Unfortunately, my older dog had 8 of her Proin pills left over after her stay (so she didn’t receive 8 doses she was supposed to). Proin helps prevent any incontinence, or leaking, which is especially important to prevent for this dog because she faces reoccurring UTI’s. Her bed smelled of urine upon my return and she had a UTI. I also asked for treats to be extremely limited because Zena has stage 3 renal failure. When I picked my dogs up, Soniya explained the dogs somehow got into the bag which housed all their treats and a calming supplement for my younger dog. I appreciate Soniya’s honesty but I was so upset my older dog with kidney failure was able to eat an entire bag of her prescription treats, the other dogs treats and a calming supplement not even meant for her.
Soniya was an amazing sitter!! I've had her before she joined Rover and I can tell you she's 5 stars all the way! Unlike most sitters, she's actually incredibly knowledgeable about all sorts of dog breeds and the requirements for each one. As the owner of a Shepherd and a Yorkie, each dog has different energy requirements and Soniya eagerly tended to them. You can truly see the passion comes from within her, and I can guarantee you won't regret hiring her for your fur baby!
