Pet care experience
I have been the go-to dog sitter for family and friends ever since I could hold a leash. I have a lot of experience with and love for large, strong dogs. Small dogs are also very special. I grew up with small terrier mixes and spaniels. Walking is one of my favorite hobbies (and my preferred way to exercise) and I LOVE having a four legged friend as a companion. I have experience with anxious and reactive dogs and am always on the look out for body language cues to avoid potentially stressful situations for your dogs. I enjoy providing the physical and mental stimulation required for a happy, healthy and tired dog. Wagging tails, floppy tongues, dirty paws... the signs of a happy pup.

Sondra and her family we're amazing! Took excellent care of our boy Jake. Multiple daily walks, updates and pictures. Jake can have some anxiety issues and she was more than happy to accommodate and adjust as needed for him. Also had a last minute ear infection that was no issue for her and again was awesome with giving him drops and providing updates to us. Would recommend Sondra highly to anyone looking for that extra care for their furry loved ones!
Sondra was great! She was very communicative and sent many photos. Very flexible with pick up drop off and her son was great with my kid shy dog!
We were extremely happy with the care Sondra provided for Marti while we were away for 3 weeks. She sent regular updates, pictures & videos. She looked after a minor health issue. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask Sondra to look after Marti again.
Sondra is amazing! Our pup enjoyed his stay — he was loved and pampered by Sondra and her family. We think he wanted to stay longer.

In my home they are welcome on all furniture - including my bed - and receive all the snuggles they can handle. If your rules are different than mine I will happily abide by your limitations.

Your pets will be loved and cared for as if they were my own. A list of words they know or are working on, habits and any dietary restrictions are incredibly helpful in making their stay comfortable and consistent. Eventually my family would like to add puppy into our lives but in the meantime I would love to give my attention to as many dogs in my area as possible! Any money that I make from Rover will go directly into my own puppy fund :)
A typical day
I love to go on daily walks though my neighbourhood. It's very family friendly and there are a lot of things to sniff and experience. I am lucky to live close to many trails, paths and lakes. My dog loves to swim so we often walk to nearby lakes and throw the stick for a while. I also love to go to Shubie park and the Cole Harbour Heritage trails. I also believe in giving dogs mental stimulation. Especially for my border collie! I use puzzle feeders, food balls, and snuffle mats.

Availability
I own a 14+ year old border collie mix who is starting to slow down. Unfortunately she can't keep up with me on longer walks anymore. I would love to have the company of 4 legged friends who love to explore go on longer adventures. My dog still loves to go for shorter slower walks to sniff around the neighbourhood and use her keen brain. I work from home 2 days during the work week and am home on weekends. I usually enjoy going for short walks in the morning and long walks after supper daily. I could also offer shorter walks mid day on the days I am working from home. On the weekends I love going for longer hikes or adventures weather permitting. We also have a small backyard for potty breaks in between walks.
