Pet care experience
I volunteered at the ASPCA for 4 years, during time I learned how to better recognize animal body language. I regularly walked and trained dogs to sit, lay and army crawl. I also became very accustomed to cleaning out kennels and dealing with all sorts of temperaments from energetic puppies to old lazy dogs. The ASPCA also taught me to handle, groom and entertain cats and rabbits. I am also a lifetime owner of dogs, cats, and a turtle so I’m aware of the regular maintenance needed for household pets. I even spent a month taking care of month old kittens which requires bottle feedings every few hours, even in the middle of the night and teaching them how to use the restroom. I’ve always really enjoyed being around and caring for all different types of animals.

Sofia is the perfect dog sitter. She is very experienced, communicative, and detailed. She watched our puppy for long periods of time and provided the best care we could ask for. She is prompt in her communication, very punctual and responsible. We felt at ease knowing that our 4 month old puppy was in good hands. We will continue to use her as our sitter and we highly recommend her.
No one loves animals more than Sofia. She is patient with them, sensitive to their needs, and is very responsible in taking care of them. She also gives them so much love!
I hired Sofia in June 2019 to dog sit my 5-6month old German Sherpherd mix. I had just adopted her from the SPCA a month before so she was still adjusting to her new life. On top of that she was in her “Land Shark” phase. She was a difficult puppy and Sofia was the only one I could trust to handle her. Sofia did an excellent job watching her and keeping her comfortable while I was away.

I usually take dogs to walk at the El Dorado park or Beach walk depending on how comfortable they are around other dogs. However I know some dogs are more comfortable around their own neighborhoods so that might be better depending on the owners wishes. Fetch and tug a war are often very popular among most dogs and also can work on some basic training things such as sit, lay, army crawl and nose touch if the owner would like.
