Pet care experience
Hello! I have grown up with dogs and cats my entire life and currently live with two cats. I grew up with two huskies, which gave me experience with a variety of dog behaviors. I can handle leash pullers, yard diggers, counter surfers, cat chasers, constant howlers - you name it. I absolutely adore dogs and cats and would love to get to know your best friend. I am a college student with a free summer, so I have a flexible schedule. I have previously been a sitter on Rover but am new to Pittsburgh and looking forward to getting to know the pets of this area. I have experience with puppies, animals with medical issues such as seizures or diabetes, and medication administration, and am very comfortable providing medical care to dogs. If your pet does require any kind of medical care, we will go over it in detail during the meet and greet. While I can't board animals at my home, I can offer dog walking, house sitting, and drop-in visits. High quality care is my utmost priority. When taking care of your animal, I treat them as I would treat my own, and I always provide frequent updates to keep you in the loop. When in your home, I treat your space with respect. I am clean and quiet, and I do not smoke. Sloane was great with our Old English Sheepdog, Sophie! It was our first time leaving her with someone else for an extended period of time so we were a bit nervous. Sloane did an excellent job of putting our minds at ease by sending us frequent updates along with pictures and videos of Sophie playing, going for walks, and relaxing. She ended up being so spoiled by Sloane that I was surprised she wanted to come back home with us! We will definitely be going back to Sloane the next time we need someone to watch her.

I would love to give Sloane more than 5 stars! Dazie had a great stay. I could tell she felt like she was in her own home! Sloane kept me updated with how she was doing be sending messages and photos everyday I was away from her. She is very knowledgeable about and loving towards dogs.

I am happy to meet with you and your pet before arranging a stay. I would love to hear everything about them, including their regular feeding/walking schedule, any medical issues, and any special habits that I should be aware of -- (i.e. Pete likes to go up to bed exactly at 9pm or else he will start howling). I love hearing about what makes your pet special - it makes a great stay even better when I can go in with an in depth understanding of the pet's personality.
A typical day
I am a patient person when it comes to getting to know animals - if your dog or cat needs time to trust me, I will always take that time to build up a relationship with them. I'll meet your pet where they are activity-wise. High energy dogs can enjoy frequent walks and play sessions, but I'm also happy to hang out on the couch with more low-energy friends. I live near Frick Park and would love to bring your pup on a walk through the park with me. Cats could enjoy playing with toys, being brushed, or even learning a trick (my cats know how to "sit", "high five", and "spin.") Dog walking services include a half-hour walk with pick up and drop off at your house. I will provide a Rover Report Card, which informs you of the route we take and other details. Drop-in services include a half-hour (though sometimes longer) check in at your home, during which I will feed/water the pet, let them out to use the bathroom, provide playtime and exercise, brush/groom them, and/or walk them - what takes place during the drop-in visit is dependent on your preferences. Walks are included with drop-in services for no extra fee. Cat care services function as drop-in visits, approximately half an hour long, that take place at your home. I will provide food and water, change litter boxes, provide playtime and exercise, brush/groom the cats, and can also provide house sitting services such as bringing in the mail, watering plants, and light house cleaning. When house sitting, I stay in your home with your pet for the majority of my time, as well as overnight. I provide constant companionship for your pet, including feeding/watering, grooming, playtime, bathroom breaks, and as many walks as are requested. I can also provide house sitting services such as bringing in the mail, watering plants, and light house cleaning. No matter what service I provide, you will be kept up to date with your pet's activities with daily messages, photos, and videos. I am always reachable via phone and text 24/7 when pet sitting.
