As an avid pet owner for over 15 years, I have plenty of experience with all sorts of animals! No pet is too much for me! I’ll treat your fur baby just like my own. I care for 3 cats and two dogs currently in my own home, and both are very friendly and welcoming to other furry guests! As a previous veterinary assistant and doggy daycare attendant/dog trainer, and animal shelter attendant, I pride myself on the knowledge and experience I have dealing with animals everyday. I’m hoping that with Rover, I can spend my time doing the things I love most, caring for pets! I’m a very trustworthy and reliable person, and I’m hoping that you can put your trust in me to take care of your fur baby in the way you would yourself! I have my Dogsafe Canine First Aid certificate as well as my Fear Free certificate so you’ll feel confident knowing your baby is in safe hands! I am a certified dog trainer with 3 years of experience in a professional setting. I offer Walk and Train programs for all of my clients which can include training your dog on leash manners, distractions, and basic obedience! These Walk and Train options are reflected in the price per walk. Please contact me if you are interested in adding a training option to walks or if you would like more information!

Skylar is exactly what we were looking for and more. It is hard to leave your fur baby with anyone but it is clear Akira adores her, and she genuinely cares for him too. We went on a trip and she was there to walk Akira everyday, even having our family tag along and give them tips on walking. In 3 weeks Akira has become a completely different puppy on walks. He still has things to work on but walks are much easier and we understand better now to deal with issues (like when he sees other dogs or wants to eat a stick). We can tell he is happier and calmer on walks and we are as well. Skylar is also quite professional which is essential. We need someone reliable. She is always on time, responds to messages and answers questions. She always sends thorough summaries, tips and pictures. skylar goes above and beyond expectations. She genuinely cares, and is willing to work with you for your specific needs. We have had other dog walkers not correctly react to Akira picking up sticks. She understands and is patient to train him rather than get irritable. I think the key difference with Skylar and other walkers is she has experience training puppies which helps her better understand them and know how to react in situations. She isn’t just providing walks but valuable training and a fun experience for our puppy when we can’t be there. We are so blessed to have found Skylar and appreciate all her hard work
Skylar continues to impress me after having used her services for 3 weeks now! She has a genuine concern and care for Meea and that’s evident in all the communications and photos Skylar sends me! I will definitely continue to use Skylar’s services and am so thrilled we found her!
Skylar is an amazing dog walker and she did a great job walking Meea during a recent business trip that I had. What I loved about Skylar is that she arranged a meet and greet with us and Meea to make sure she knew exactly what Meea needed. Meea had a scary run in with a dog (with my husband, not Skylar) on the Tuesday night and Skylar spent extra time on the Wednesday cuddling her to make sure she wasn't anxious about the walk! Skylar was super responsive to messages and sent lots of photo's of Meea during their walks! I would highly recommend Skylar as a dog walker and I'm already going to book her for next week as well.

I really enjoy taking dogs for walks either around the neighbourhood or on trails if that is something you would be comfortable with!

Preferably no human aggresive behaviour. Must be good with other dogs and cats and be well socialized (able to read dog body language and play appropriately)
A typical day
Walks to the park, river, and on hiking trails can be expected as well as time spent playing with toys and snuggling up on the sofa! If you have selected a Walk and Train, you can expect a thorough summary of any exercises your dog and I worked on during the walk as well as pictures and videos accompanied by a step by step on how to work with your own dog on your walks. Positive reinforcement is the training method I use.
