I used to work as a paramedic and volunteer firefighter until an injury opened a new passion for me - working with dogs! Since then, I have dedicated the majority of my time to learning all I can about all things dog-related. I have experience with dog training (especially working dogs), non-aggression-related problem solving, and special care for working dogs and special needs. I will treat your canine companion as if they were my own. I believe in a human-canine relationship based on mutual love and respect, but clearly communicating your expectations and rewarding appropriate behavior, while shaping behaviors into appropriate ones so that a dog doesn't simply become confused and frustrated by "no" or punishment. The historic relationship between dogs and humans is an incredible one, and should be beneficial to both. I'm skilled in recognizing signs of canine communication including stress signs - if your dog isn't comfortable with something, I'll know and be able to move your dog more toward his/her comfort zone. I understand that some dogs are in need of space, and ensuring those special needs and rules are enforced and other dogs/people not allowed to approach. I specialize in large and giant breeds but all are welcome! I'm self-employed, as such, my schedule is flexible, I am punctual, and I have my own transportation. I can even offer basic training and maintenance during visits and stays. I can provide transportation to appointments and care for your dog in the environment most comfortable for them, to reduce stress and damaging behaviors while you are away.
