Pet care experience
I have been rescued and owned by dogs of questionable pedigree and loyal hearts for more than 30-years from Texas to Alaska. NPR's "Calling All Pets" and "The Other End of the Leash" are guiding principles. Learned a lot about dog and dogness from a motley lot of 4 mutts in Alaska who taught me how to skijor, that dogs know their right from left better than people do, and who always brought me home safely--it was their home too. My daughter, many years ago, at age 12 had a black lab and pit bull something-or-other that she first trained for the Canine Good Citizen Test and then agility. I have trained to something-or-others to become service dogs. Positive reinforcement, consistency, and understanding what/how dogs understand their social world and interact are key to happy dogs and positive people-dog interactions (i.e."socialization").

Sissy was great. Stayed over with our 2 labs for a night and ended up being in a huge snowstorm. She was very self sufficient, still managed to get the pups out and did a little shoveling. Really appreciated having her around. The dogs were well cared for and happy/tired when we returned.
Sissy was everything we could have hoped for! Our poodle had recently been attacked and injured by another dog and we wanted someone to stay in our home who could take good care of her. Sissy communicated with us daily and sent photos, she took Sadie on walks and other field trips. We came home to a very happy and healthy dog. Sissy was willing to water flowers or do other tasks around the house as needed. Given Sadie's recent injury, we were quite stressed out to leave her; but she was in excellent hands with Sissy.
Sissy is a passionate dog person. She has lots of experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Charlie, our very wily husky, loves his visits with her! Your dog will be in great hands with Sissy.
Sissy has been an excellent dog sitter. She is calm and the dogs really feel that. She is reliable and steady when it comes to letting out, feeding & going for walks. I highly recommend her. Two paws up !

I have no breed preference or size preference. I have lived and worked with small apartment dogs and I have lived and worked with working dogs in Alaska. Yes, my Alaskan working dogs all four (and all that hair) lived inside.
A typical day
I am an avid twice-a-day walker. There will be walks or wanders. The destination isn't as important as the get-out-and-move-around. And check the pee-mail along the route, of course. Your dog will have socialization experiences and to explore--safely, of course.
