Compassionate & Patient Animal Care
Pet care experience
Ever since childhood, I've owned and helped care for many different dogs, horses and even some cats, and have always absolutely adored it. I previously owned one 15 year old GSD x chow mix and currently have one 3 year old domestic shorthair I picked up as a stray and just adopted a 1 year old pittie x lab mix! At 16, I started studying animal behavior and the basics of learning theory, and though this initially started because of my work with horses, I've found it has carried over a great deal when working with all animals. I've delved a bit into training- mainly teaching my old dog new tricks, my young cat basic cooperative care, and my horse cooperative care and some tricks; approaching all of which with force-free, fear-free and rewards-based methods of practice in order to not only achieve the goal behaviors, but also to make the experience more enjoyable for everyone included- especially the animals! Through all this, my main source of pride and joy has been working with anxious animals and helping them grow confidence. As such, you would never have to worry about your beloved furry family members being unnecessarily forced into any uncomfortable situations, as I will do everything I can to set them up for success, keeping a particularly keen eye out for changes in body language and otherwise behavior, and always encouraging reciprocal communication. If you are looking for someone with a good understanding of animal behavior, endless patience, particular attention to detail and "soft hands" overall, we might just be the perfect match! LGBT friendly, so forth (:
Reviews
Sin is incredibly caring when it comes to dogs. Our smallest one is really scared when it comes to interacting with others, but Sin was able to help calm her down and take care of her with ease.

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I offer walking, drop-in visits, and house-sitting. Upon meeting your pet(s), in order to build trust and ensure safety, I will do my best to familiarize myself with their needs, wants & boundaries, as they and you are able to communicate them. This will involve meeting them in person in order for me to better assess our "fit" and for them to become comfortable; I will not force any interactions- it is on their time. When arriving at your home, I will always check and if needed clean/refill water. Of course, care also includes letting them into the yard as needed to stretch their legs and do their business, or taking them on walks- given they either have shoes or there are places nearby that won't burn anyone's paws off! Administering medication is provided as well, given there are clear instructions to do so safely. I do not yet consider myself a professional trainer, however I am open to providing some training depending on the specific situation after an in-depth discussion with the owner. I am currently unable to board in my home, but that may change soon!

Please let me know of any specific behaviors and/or medical things I should take note of in order to ensure as much comfort and respect to your pet as possible (: This absolutely welcomes any particular actions or activities that you regularly do to comfort your pet as well, please do share!
A typical day
Adequate mental and physical stimulation is key to the wellbeing of any living creature! As such, I am more than willing to get down and play with your pets be it through tug or fetch, puzzle games, agility courses, or taking them on walks allowing plenty of time to take in their surroundings and sniff things out.
