I was brought up with a rescue border collie called Bart for 16 years. I had a grumpy dumpy loving pug called Mike until I moved overseas. We have looked after Rex who is a Spanish rescue and he was an old boy, deaf and going blind so was territorial and protective. His needs were very different to the Beagle Spaniel Alan who was energetic and cheeky and won waggiest tail of the year. Plus Cecil who hated other dogs and loved to be treated like a prince. The point being, we are well versed in accommodating all dogs but don’t hide his or her personality as we are bound to find out and find honesty and kindness is the best currency in these exchanges.

We walk for at least an hour a day. We are exploring the area so our walk patterns are varied and fun. I also run 5km before work 3 times a week. We love living near the Yorkshire wolds and the East Coast Coastal Path and paddling int the sea. Yet there is something comforting about sofa cuddles and films at the end of the day too!
