In the past I have trained dogs and lived with dogs for more than 20 years. I used to volunteer with boxer pet rescue whatever a boxer was turned into The shelter I would get a phone call and go pick up the dog and watch the dog until he was rehomed this could be anywhere between one week and six weeks. I typically had four to six dogs at any given time. There was a range of very well mannered dogs to dogs that had been severely abused. It was so wonderful at the end of their stay to see them comforted and so much calmer. It was heartbreaking to see them go to their forever home but at the same time it was a wonderful experience to know that now they were going to their home.
