Live. Laugh. Bark.

Pet care experience

Having recently lost our senior boy Moosie in September 2023 and then our senior girl Paisley in November 2024 I have had the privilege of loving dogs from early days until senior moments. I have a love for all animals, but a special spot for dogs. Dogs make me happy and I find my career in mental health has helped inform and foster my skills in supporting and caring for animals. Like with my patients, I focus on meeting pets where they are at. My first hand experience with pets has always been with rescues. Thus, I am comfortable caring for all kinds of dogs, especially those that may need a little extra attention or guidance. I have experience with puppy training, administrating medication, cleaning ears, trimming nails, walking, playing and loving animals based on their needs and comfort level. My most favourite memories are with our dogs and I am looking to find ways to fill my cup as my husband needs more time before we have a new pet join our family.

Shyanne is a dedicated, caring, reliable, and thoughtful pet owner. Not only does she give each and every animal she has the best care possible, she is committed to making sure every day for her pets is their best day ever! All in all, Shyanne is friendly, communicative and trustworthy- I highly recommend her services as a dog sitter/dog walker.

Safety, trust & environment

At our home, we have a fenced yard, a doggy play room and cosy beds in almost each room of the house and a water bowl up and down stairs. I tend to keep dogs close or stay in the room when I am in new territory. I am a fan of the outdoors, and if enjoyable for the pet I am caring for, typically opt to spend most time outside either in our back yard or going to the park or river. Lots of walking, playing and sunning typically happens when under my care. I am mindful that every pet is different and it’s not always a one system works. I like to spend time getting to know a pets personality to ensure I provide comfort and fun! I am a strong communicator and prefer adhering to guidance or instruction from owners.

Information Shyanne B. would like to know about your pet

For me, it’s important to know who your pet is - what are their preferences? What is their pace? Do they like to play? How are they with other dogs? Do they have any special needs for accommodation (ie medication, leash only, etc). Are they comfortable in a car with the window down? What is the most important thing for you when entrusting your loved one with another human? How can we make your pet as comfortable as possible?

A typical day

I love to spend as much time outdoors with pets as possible; rain or shine. A typical day with me starts out with an early morning walk (pace and length depends on each pets needs or preferences), followed by breakfast then either some play or a snooze. The afternoon is typically more outside time either in the yard, at a park, on a trail or at the river. We have many different style of toys for fun and training. Evenings end with another walk after dinner and snuggles if comfortable. As each dog is unique, I like to take time getting to know their personalities and preferences.

I am currently working full-time but with a hybrid schedule. When I am caring for a pet, they are always my first priority. At this time, I am ready for us to bring a new pet into our family, but my husband needs more time. I find myself yearning to go for walks, play with and care for a pet and so I’m hoping to support our community with my time and experience. If I were caring for your pet, please know they would come first always when under my care.
