Experienced and paw-ssionate vet student!
Pet care experience
I’m a vet student at UoE and have thus had lots of clinical and other related prior experience with pets, such as working at a shelter and assisting a veterinary professional for several months. I also have a fair amount of animal handling classes in-course that have shown me great techniques on professional canine and feline care! I don’t work any current jobs, so I’m free almost any day of the week except for when I would have to go into campus for practical classes. I love jogging in the meadows and go out for walks quite often myself, so incorporating a dog into that routine can work quite well! My degree being highly “dog-related” encourages me to include as much puppy time as possible, which I think is perfect for taking up pet care:) I’ve learnt quite a bit about animal behaviour and welfare and always try to include that knowledge whenever pet-sitting. Making sure their physical as well as emotional requirements are met is a big priority. I like to keep them stimulated and active/satisfied by teaching tricks or using interactive toys. I appreciate that every pet is different too! Each have their own wants, needs, feeding/exercise/sleep schedules, triggers etc which I incorporate in my care time with them. I try to keep things clean and organized while making sure they have a blast!
Reviews
Brilliant communication start to finish, sent lots of updates and took great care of Poirot.
Shravi has been brilliant with my dog each time, and Anko already gets excited when she comes to sit for her. Communication is so easy with her, she kept me updated with pictures and I felt very at ease throughout.
Shravya is brilliant. My little dog Anko took to her in minutes. She is knowledgeable, calm, patient and kind. We also found lots of common ground to chat and she is super nice to be around. She makes me feel at ease when I leave my dog under her care, as if my own family was caring for her. I have already booked the next home sitting day with her :)
Great sitter, Zero was super happy to spend the afternoon with!

I don’t have any pets at home, but my flatmates are also sitters on Rover so there may be a small chance that there’s another pet there but I would always let you know beforehand!

Information Shravya M. would like to know about your pet
Any allergies or medical issues(both temporary-like a sickness that requires medication/extra care and permanent illnesses/health issues) that I need to look after are primary. I’d also like to know about their temperament towards other humans, animals, other dogs and any triggers or fears that might excite/alarm them. Lastly, for dogs in daycare, whether they tend to bark or howl. The occasional woof is perfectly fine, but my neighbors are quite aged and the more vocal pups are a little disruptive to them!
A typical day
I love to give a dog a full day complete with activities and rest. I’d take them for a jog/walk around the meadows or let them do zoomies on open fields near Priestonfield/Blackford. For cats, it’s really dependent on their schedule but I’m open to whatever you or they are comfortable with! Mental stimulation is equally important, so I like to keep interacting with them, teaching them new tricks, and making sure they get to see smell and hear lots of new things(one thing I love to do is cook with them)! For a calmer activity, I’d usually read a book with them or visit a cafe, maybe even play some music together. It all depends on them but there’s always an interesting activity to do for every mood!

Availability
I’m quite flexible in the week as I can do lectures from, except for when I have practical classes as they’re mandatory to go in person. On weekends I’m almost always free and will put it in my calendar if I’m away
