Pet care experience
Your dog will be part of our family! As an experienced dog and family parent I will care for your dog(s) as one of our cherished family members! Our house is a very dog friendly home, with a fully fenced yard; dual ‘airlock’ gates; lots of couches, beds, and other comfy places to hang-out; toys and fresh water are always readily available; and a backyard tree with birds and squirrels provide endless hours of entertainment. (The squirrels are always too fast for the dogs and safely escape into the tree.) The dogs are welcome to sleep anywhere they want, which is usually on the bed with me. I've cared for, rescued, and fostered dogs, both puppies and senior dogs, with a range of challenges and abilities, for my entire adult life. In the summer of 2022, my son left for college and 16 yo labradoodle, Dannon, succumbed to old age. Fortunately, my nest was not empty because - it’s still full of dogs! I’ve offered doggie-daycare and boarding services directly since 2016, and through Rover since 2017, and have received all 5 full-star reviews! Established clients who work full time bring their dogs 5 days a week, and several others bring their dogs 1-3 days a week, but I host a maximum of 6-8 dogs per day, depending on size, temperament, and family relationships. Information Shileen D. would like to know about your pet: Before sitting for a dog, I need to know about any strong sensitivities or preferences, any health or behavior concerns, the dog’s usual daily routine, including what, when, and how much food, plus of course primary, emergency and your regular vet’s contact details. A typical day First, the dogs who are boarding here wake up about 7am, have breakfast and some outdoor time. Second, the daycare dogs start to arrive around 7:30 am. Then we play, hang out, chase the ball and nap until around 1 pm when the smallest and youngest dogs have ‘snack time.’ If temperaments allow the older dogs get chew toys &/or a filled ‘treat-ball’ during snack time. The daycare dogs are picked up between 5 – 6:60 pm, then the boarding dogs have dinner, more outdoor time and a quiet evening until bedtime. Skills 30+ years of experience caring for kids & dogs, including puppies, adult, senior and special needs dogs; basic dog training; behavioral management, emergency care; oral and /or injected medication administration; etc. Lives in a house; Has a fenced yard; Non-smoking household; No children present; Dogs allowed on beds and furniture; Potty breaks every 0-2 hours.
Reviews
I was a bit nervous about leaving our dog Ernie with a new person when I regular sitter was booked. There was no need to be worried, Shileen was so kind and took great care of Ernie. We did a meet and greet before he went to stay with her for a long time over the holidays and she put me right at ease. She sent pictures and gave me updates throughout his stay.
Shileen was very personal, friendly, and caring while boarding Princess. She has a dog friendly house and had no issues with having Princess over for a few nights.
Shileen watched our little dog Juno and she was amazing. She had great communication, was very flexible, made time for a meet and greet that made me feel at ease and sent great photos. The other dogs that Shileen watched were sweet and great playmate for Juno. Our pup definitely had a good time with Shileen!
Came home to a very happy puppy!

Our house and yard have been thoroughly tested and never had a problem. The air-lock gates provide an added layer of safety, protecting against any inadvertent escapes! I have a dog first-aid kit handy. It's never been necessary but I have a car available if a trips to the emergency vet becomes necessary.

I'm home with the dogs all day Monday - Friday from 7am - at least 6:30 pm, and usually around on the weekends too. If I need to go out during the week my sister or my adult son 'cover for me' by coming over to hang out with the dogs.
