Dog Trainer, Walker & Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

**VERY IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ** (updated 10 Apr 2024) I would be delighted to take care of your furry family members! Please read my entire profile so that we can make sure that I’ll be a good fit for you and your pet/s. 🐾 I love all animals, but have a very special love for DOGS! Age, breed, size don't matter. I love them all! I take care of your home and pets as if they are my own, respecting your space and wishes while you are away. My attention would be on your pet/s and will keep you updated with photos and videos whenever possible during my service hour/s. I prefer to be active with your active dog. We can spend time walking, playing fetch, or doing anything your dog enjoys doing. If your furry family member prefers to chill on the couch, I can do that, too (I may need a book or my laptop/tablet to keep me occupied). With this said, my posted rates include walk and/or play time, enrichment activities, and sometimes even training sessions on manners or tricks. If you do not want this and just needs someone to be there for your furry family member and not do any activity, pls let me know. If the posted rates are a concern, please reach out, let's chat! 🐾 🐾 I am a certified dog trainer and trick dog instructor. I can keep your pet busy, if s/he enjoys mentally and/or physically stimulating exercises. If you choose me to care for your puppy or newly adopted adult dog, I'd be happy to do some training with him/her 🐾

Sherry is awesome!!! My puppy Tootsie adores her… she can feel the genuine love and care from her. She helped me with my baby’s behavioral issue (biting) - that alone made me happy. She’s great with pets….and her knowledge about pets are extensive. Highly recommended…

She is very knowledgeable about dog body language. She knows what the dog needs and acts on them. I love how she is genuinely interested to know my fur baby and I trust she does the same to others too.

🐾 I always follow leash laws, where applicable. Pets will always be leashed when out on walks unless we are at a secured/fenced in off-leash area. I do NOT use retractable leashes, prong collars, pinch collars, or shock/e-collars. If you use any of these with your dog/s, please let me know. I can bring my own standard leash, and can provide collar and harness recommendations. I use positive reinforcement (rewards-based) training and can train basic behaviors upon guardian's request; also very knowledgeable in providing enrichment. Able to use management tools such as leash, crate, baby gates, play pens etc as needed. All doors and gates will be secured during and after service hour/s. Photos and/or videos will be sent to client as soon as I'm able (I would rather focus on caring for your pet than be on my phone to take & send pictures) 🐾 ⭐️⭐️TERMS OF SERVICE⭐️⭐️
🔑 It is recommended that you have a lockbox for your key, or I can keep a key on hand if you’d like to continue booking me after your first sitting. No information except your pet's name will be on the key ring that I keep. If you don’t have a lockbox or a safe place for your key and are unable to do a key exchange before and after your trip or appointment, there will be a $20 fee for each key trip, and needs to be paid in cash. 🔑
🏠 Please notify me if anyone will be entering your home during my stay, or if you will be returning home earlier than your scheduled return date. Failure to notify me can result in the police being called (for safety reasons), and I may end the sitting without any refund for the remaining booked hours/days. 🏠
📸 Please disclose all recording devices prior to sittings, with the exception of outdoor cameras. Indoor cameras that are not disclosed will result in the sitting being cancelled or ended without refund. 📸

Information Sherry L. would like to know about your pet

I need to know if the dog has any special needs, medical needs or behavior challenges/concerns. Have you left your dog/s with a sitter before? Is your dog friendly with people s/he hasn't met before? Does your dog resource guard? Is your dog reactive on leash? Does s/he bark at other dogs while out on walks? Does your dog pull when walking? Does your dog play well with other dog/s? Does your dog have any dietary restrictions, allergies, etc? I need to know all behavior and medical concerns so I can better prepare to care for your dog and to meet his/her needs. Please also leave your vet's contact info.

A typical day

I love to provide both physical and mental stimulation to pet/s. We can play enrichment games and I can train tricks. I also offer different types of walk adventures (sniffy or exploratory walks? training walks? exercise walk?). I do avoid public dog parks as much as possible. I think they are a breeding ground for undesirable behaviors and illnesses. Neighborhood walks and leashed walks at the park are what I recommend. Going to Sniffspots, if available in the area, may also be done if I am authorized by you to take your dog/s. This can be discussed upon booking. Please leave a guideline on how you want me to care for your dog/s. How much and how often do they get fed? Can they take treats? Do they have any food allergies? Are they taking any medication or supplements? How often and how long can they play fetch? Etc.

Availability

Very flexible with schedule and may be able to work with client depending on needs/requirements. May be available with same-day notice.
⏳ Overnight sitting is based on a 12-hour care time frame. This means that I will be spending a total of 12 hours overnight with your pet/s to care for them and be with them. Overnight sitting is usually from 7pm-7am (may be 6pm-6am or 8pm-8am). If you have any concerns regarding this schedule, please do not hesitate to send me a message. Let's chat! ⏳ ⏳ Overnight sitting includes feeding and walks, based on your regular feeding and walking schedules, play time and other activities you routinely do. I adjust to your pet/s' routine. Mentally stimulating activities will be done as well, unless you request not to ⏳
⭐️ By confirming your booking on Rover, you are agreeing to the hours listed here as well as the listed terms of service. ⭐️ You also have the option to book directly with me, and not be charged extra for your 2nd pet (you will only be charged extra if you have more than 2 dogs/pets). It is a little challenging to set that up here. Send me a message!
