Pet care experience
While our Rover profile is new, our home comes with over 2 decades of pet care experience and dedication. In addition to our own dogs, we have fostered extensively with several rescue organizations over the years. We have taken in countless dogs, that arrived in varying stages of health, and urgently needed loving care and a home. This has led to experience with dogs with medical conditions, untrained dogs, dogs with high anxiety, etc. We have seen and cared for it all! Most of all we are reliable, highly communicative & have a high tolerance for dogs being dogs. This comes easy when you care for them out of a love for animals.

Shermane and Edouard took fantastic care of my new puppy! I had never left her before but their frequent updates and pictures really put me at ease. They provided awesome communication from before booking to after pick up, and my puppy seems like she had a great day. Highly recommend and will absolutely book again.
Our dog had a great stay with Shermane and Edouard. They asked questions before boarding about our dog's needs such as food, medicine, sleeping arrangements, walks, etc. They communicated with us every day to let us know how our little boy was doing and getting along. They are so warm and friendly and we would definitely leave our dog with S and E again. Highly recommended!

Dogs have free range in our home. It is a large, two level space that we keep almost fully uncarpeted for stress free care of dogs or puppies that may not be fully house trained or simply have an accident. We have one 5 year old lab mix that is a perfect companion for any visiting dogs. He enjoys playing, but has a high tolerance for dogs that may not have fully developed canine manners. We have the ability to keep dogs separate if needed, but it is a definite bonus if your dog would like a playmate. We do not crate our dog, and do not insist on a crate for our boarders, but will use one, if necessary. Dogs beds are plentiful in our home and we are relaxed about bed sleeping, if the pet parent allows. We would like to stick to and enforce your pet normal routine as much as possible.

We would love to know as much as possible about your pets temperament, preferences, energy level and exercise requirements. Of course any dietary restrictions, medical care or needs. How often are they used to going out? Do they do well if home alone for a short time? Are they used to sleeping with you, in your room, in your bed? The more information the better so we can give the best care possible.
A typical day
We live along the C&O canal in Georgetown and two blocks from the waterfront so we spend a lot of time exploring those areas with pups. There are so many smells, sights and sounds to keep any dog engaged. If your dog prefers a more peaceful quiet setting we have areas that are largely unvisited by people or dogs to visit nearby.

Availability
My husband and I work as a team to ensure there is little to no time that someone is not home and available through the week and on weekends. Not having a yard available ensures 4 - 6 walks per day starting at 6am and ending at 9pm. Walks are a minimum of 15 minutes for the quick, just need a potty break, but almost all days include longer sessions midday, and as athletes, we are happy to provide runs, if your dog needs that level of energy release. Because we have one dog already, our preference is to take one client at a time, but we will consider two pets from the same home.
