Pet care experience
I've been doing "in-home" puppy training for over 25 years since I love to teach people how to train "house manners" to their new dog. My world is full of volunteering at the shelters, finding new homes for homeless animals, and caring for my own 4 dogs (and 2 cats). Since I set my own schedule, I've added "dog boarding" ( small breeds or elderly dogs_) in my home. I know that leaving a new puppy or an ailing senior in a boarding kennel, can be tough on both them (and you), so I will give your dog a lot of love and care in my home while you are gone. I'm familiar with all breeds, sizes and personalities, I'm not afraid to clean up messes and I'm experienced with giving medication (as I have 2 seniors). She's always willing to assist with training advice, as well as running her own training business. Sheri could be trusted to handle any animal with care and compassion, and make sure a pet had a fun time too!
I highly recommend Sheri, without a moment's hesitation, to be a dog sitter. Sheri has a love and understanding of dogs, and is a passionate, outspoken advocate for them. She has a true talent of communicating with them and being sure their needs are met. I would (and have) leave my dogs in her care without worry. You'll be lucky to have your dogs under her watchful care.
I highly recommend Sheri for any type of dog sitting or walking. She has been involved with training dogs & the dog rescue community for many years. Sheri has 3 cats & 4 dogs of her own & cares for them as if they were her children. She warmed up to my new rescue pup immediately & that is saying a lot because he has been afraid of strangers. I'd like to know breed, age, size and how they get along with other dogs (on a walk, should be see others). I realize that most dogs may bark or get excited, but need to know how yours acts so I can be aware. If I'm sitting for your dog, I just want to know up front of any problems or medical conditions, so I know what to expect.
A typical day
I love to walk and sometimes I'm in the mood to jog a bit, so if your dog needs some real activity, I'm happy to make sure they get their exercise. I don't let dogs jump on me, so I'm happy to work on that if it's an issue, and I know what type of leash, collar, harness, etc, works best on a walk (depending on the dog). In most cases, I'd be using yours, (or I have my own), but I'm happy to make any recommendations to make it easier for all if necessary.
