Pet care experience
I began pet sitting several years ago, while teaching in Cabot. My family and I recently moved home to Jonesboro, and I’m looking forward to making new furry friends! I’ve cared for all types of clients—dogs, cats, fish, and birds —even an emu! (Unfortunately, I am allergic to rabbits and goats, so I would not be able to take any jobs where those animals live.) I also have five years’ experience as a house sitter as well, and can provide references upon request. I also have experience with special needs animals. I am eager to meet your pets and help you feel confident they are receiving the care they deserve. Please note: I am physically disabled, so I cannot walk dogs over 20 pounds on a leash. I am happy to play outside in a fenced yard.

At this time, I am not offering boarding services for cats or dogs. I am willing to make visits either daily, several times a day, or stay in your home to care for your pets. I can also do local transportation to a vet or groomer. While I don’t offer cleaning services, I do clean up after myself, including dishes, washing sheets and sanitizing the restroom before I leave. I try to make my presence invisible so that when you return your home will look exactly the way you left it.

I prefer to meet all my animal clients before handling them without their owners. Generally a 10-15 minute visit is enough to show your dog I’m a safe person. I need to know their size, feeding habits, potty habits, etc. Knowing their overnight sleeping habits in advance is preferable, as well. I will also need a shot record and veterinary contact info.
A typical day
I can adjust my activity level based on your pets’ needs. However, I do have to state again that I can’t pull or be pulled by a dog over 15 pounds on a leash because of my back. In those cases I prefer a fenced in yard where I can go out with your dogs when they do.

I am disabled, so my schedule is fairly open. I don’t have any recurring obligations or appointments that would hinder my availability. I’m open to last minute/same day requests from current or previous clients only.
