Family Full of Dog Lovers!

Pet care experience

When your dog stays with us, they are joining us as a member of our family. I go far above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to welcoming a new dog into our home. In the past, I’ve made food from scratch for dogs with unique dietary needs, and I’ve slept on the floor with a pup who needs a calming presence in order to sleep. I don’t consider these accommodations to be excessive; I approach each dog with the same love, attention, and compassionate presence with which I raised my own children. At the same time, our home is relaxed and laid-back. It’s a place for pups to feel at home, in every sense of the word. We have a wonderful family full of love to share with all of our furry visitors. They adore our guests. As a family, we engage in lots of playtime, and the kids often ask when certain doggy friends are coming back! We have two puppies of our own. Taylor, a Great Dane/German Shepard and Ty, a Husky/Lab mix. They are both incredible with other dogs: they understand how to give their new friends space, but they are playful, warm, and welcoming--just like the rest of the family! Our family is highly adaptable to the needs of any dog. We’ve accommodated long-term boarders, with stays up to 6 months long! We’re a goofy, fun-loving family and we love hosting family pups! Our sitting experiences have been thoroughly rewarding and have forged many amazing connections with dogs and their owners! Pet-sitting is a great opportunity for us to put our skills and passions to good use, and we’re lucky to be able to share our love and expertise with other people’s dogs each and every day. We all stay active, whether we’re playing with dogs or pursuing our own hobbies. We enjoy being outside, and therefore our weekends are whiled away in our backyard playing with the pups. We go swimming when it’s warm enough, kick around a soccer ball, throw a Frisbee, or jump on the trampoline. Our home and backyard are very dog-friendly. We have a huge backyard with a fenced-off pool and a green belt behind us. Dogs will enjoy people-watching, and will also have plenty of space to run around, or find a quiet area to take a quick nap. We are looking forward to welcoming your dog into our lives.

Shelly is amazing. Coco was living her best life staying with her. The pictures and videos showed a very happy girl. Thank you so much for taking excellent care of our girl. Coco is older but ran around like a puppy. We will definitely be calling Shelly to watch her again.

Friendly and helpful to answer all your questions! She has a system that works great for the pups she cares for and her family. We just were not compatible. I am a helicopter mom with my puppy so I didn't feel as comfortable, never seeing her setup with my pup nor did she walk me through it until I asked. I know it's an accident but I appreciate carefulness with my pup. She let my pup go out of the house without a leash. I know her experience is with seasoned dogs that have been coming to her for some time so perhaps that's why it was out of habit. If you are not a fan of the kennel being used throughout your day care, this is not the sitter for you. If you have an unseasoned pup, this is not the sitter for you. Also, I paid for her daycare at the her boarding rate, it wasn't corrected by either of us. Overall, she is great, flexible, and she seems very professional with her kennel system and her work. She seems to love all dogs and her kids too! She did give a couple of updates on my pup as well. We just don't align well for dog sitting matters!

Information Shelly R. would like to know about your pet

We work hard to create an environment that is similar to what your dog is used to. If your dog prefers to cuddle, then we would spend a lot of time on the floor to allow the opportunity for him to crawl in our laps and cuddle. If he enjoys playing fetch, then we would dedicate time each and every day to doing that. I work from home, and therefore I am able to spend time with the dogs we are watching all day. We create a comfortable space for each dog we watch, and adapt to their needs as we go! He’ll get plenty of playtime, walks, and treats, and I’ll pay close attention to your dog’s cues throughout the day to make sure he’s happy, safe, and comfortable.

A typical day

We’ll take all the time we need to get to know your dog and make sure that they feel completely comfortable with us! We believe that any and every dog can have a successful stay with us, regardless of breed, age, or past experiences. We take safety precautions with our kids, but of course it’s ideal if your dog is comfortable with them, too. Communication is absolutely essential to us, so we will be very thorough in our questions about your dog’s preferences, needs, and any and all concerns you may have. We will do whatever it takes to put your mind at ease and help your dog have the best experience possible. One of our highest priorities is to ensure that your dog’s experience is as similar to what they’re used to as possible, so we’ll adhere to your usual schedule closely with walks, mealtimes, and so on. We can also create plenty of separate space for your pup if he or she fares better away from the other dogs. No matter what issues arise, it’s our deepest wish to make any necessary adjustments as we go--we want to make your experience 100% satisfying! While you’re away, we send a lot of pictures and keep everyone up to date with how things are going. You can see how much we love dogs, both ourselves and our children, when you come and meet us.
