Pet care experience
Dogs love to come out to Lucky Dawg Puppy & Dog Training! Lots of places to explore and play behind a completely fenced yard! We also take leash walks through our quiet neighborhood to public lands (BLM). When it's hot, we set up a pool and turn the sprinklers on. Everyone will have a bath in our professional grooming shop to freshen up prior to going home. We travel to Bend/Redmond regularly and have a pick-up/delivery schedule for those in a hurry or who just don't want to make the drive. We're located about 30 miles NW of Bend. Shelley is a professional dog trainer, so all the pups who stay are in trusted hands. Even though our pups do not get on our furniture without an invitation, each dog has his/her own bed and sleeping place, so that everyone is completely cozy! We also accept dogs under 1 year old, if they are house-trained. Our prices are all-inclusive - unlimited leash walks and playtimes as well as a bath to freshen up before going home! DOGS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 11:00 am. If dogs are left beyond 11:00 am, daycare charges of $20 - $30 will apply. DOGS MUST BE PICKED UP NO LATER THAN 4: 00 PM - UNLESS SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE AHEAD OF TIME.

Shelley takes great care of our border collie, Rosie, when we travel. Rosie loves to go with her and when we come back home Rosie is happy and healthy. She has other dogs to play with. We never worry when Rosie is with Shelley. We know Shelley takes wonderful care of Rosie. Rosie enjoys her vacation while she is with Shelley. Shelley gives her special care - and makes sure she gets her daily exercise, and is loved.
Shelley has been taking care of my dog for several years. She grooms him, trains him and takes him home with her when I'm traveling! He loves being at her place and always comes home healthy and happy and well behaved. When Jasper (my dog) is staying at Shelley's I get lots of great photos of him living it up with the other dogs and being loved and cuddled by Shelley and her family. I NEVER feel bad leaving Jasper with Shelley. Actually I feel bad bringing him home because he's in a dog's paradise with Shelley, He's loved and cared for without being spoiled and over indulged. She's a huge blessing to me and to Jasper.
Our three-year old lab had such a great time with Shelley! She sent us pictures and updates throughout his four-night stay, and I could tell he was having a ball with Shelley's dogs, swimming, and running around. We travel from Seattle to Redmond, OR every summer and this was the first time we decided to bring our dog and board him in the Redmond area - so glad we did. Will definitely use Shelley again next summer if she's free!

I have been surrounded by dogs all of my life, so it was an easy choice to choose dog training as a profession! I have several clients for whom I dog-sit and I'm finding that I enjoy it very much, as well. We have a mellow, laid-back lifestyle full of play and adventure. I started texting photos of the dogs to their moms and dads, which people said they really enjoyed. It keeps people connected to their furry ones, even while they're away. Rest assured that your dog will receive premium care and attention staying here with us!
A typical day
All of the dogs participate in fun activities inside and outside of the house. We cater to the needs of each dog - whether it's a special diet, exercise requirement or something else. There are several playtimes throughout the day for games like fetch, frisbee and searching games. We also take leash walks through the community. The dogs are not left unattended, unless they are safely tucked away inside their crates for a short nap. You may bring your dog's foods along or let him/her eat ours (Dynamite Premium Dog Food).
