Your dog will have fun and be loved

Pet care experience

I love that dogs can speak their own language and make people happy with just a look. They are irreplaceable parts of our lives that never speak to us in English yet we can understand them if we just get to know them and get on their level. They have a way about them that allows us to be happy without knowing why and feel supported and loved by a creature that is unlike anything else. It’s their unconditional love and support that’s always inspired me to do what I can to help them thrive—so being a dog sitter really is a dream come true for me! Taking care of animals is one of the most fulfilling things I know of, so I can’t wait to meet you and your pup. I’ve been a lifelong dog lover with tons of experience to boot! I have had 6 dogs in my lifetime, three of which I have right now. I have had a Corgi, 4 Golden Retrievers, and a Long-haired Mini Dachshund. I have trained them all and lived with them since they were puppies so I am very familiar with the different life stages of the dogs. Additionally, I have been working with Rover for about a year so I have gotten to sit for many different breeds including Bichons, Pit Bulls, Australian Shepherds, Golden Doodles and many others. When I was in college, I also volunteered at an animal shelter, where I spent lots of time with all types of dogs. It was a very rewarding experience, and I learned a ton about providing excellent care to dogs in need. I can say that I definitely carry those lessons with me to every stay! When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. I know how difficult it can be to be away from your best friend, so I’m here to make that time as easy as possible! To accomplish that, I believe in excellent communication. Even before your pup comes under my wing, I want to get a good idea of what your care expectations are and how best I can serve your pup’s needs. That way, I can start thinking early on about how to make your pup’s stay as good as possible. During the stay, I always send plenty of regular updates with detailed information on anything you need to know that your pup is in good hands—from meal prep to exercise times. Those will also include lots of accompanying pictures, so you can see just how much fun we’re having together!

Shelley was great - she house-sat for us for 9 days, looking after our very energetic standard poodle and our elderly cats. We got pictures and updates regularly, and everything was shipshape when we got home. Sooooo much better than taking the dog to a kennel and plaything a neighbor kid to look after the cats.

This was our first time using a personal sitter for our pup as we had historically relied on family or taken him to a boarding facility ( which he hated). Not only did Shelley let us meet her and see her place prior to Teddy’s stay, she also sent us pictures and updates throughout his time there (he actually took better pictures for her then he does for me). When we picked him up he seemed very happy, which is not always the case when we have been away for a few days. Overall, Shelley is trustworthy and accommodating and we will certainly be using her again.

Shelley has been doing drop in visits on Emmett for a couple of months and my pup Emmett loves her. She even had him for a weekend and I felt very comfortable leaving him with her while I was away. She treats him like her own and sends me great photos with lots of updates. I highly recommend Shelley, she is great!
