Pet care experience
I have been a dog mom all my life! There has never been a time that I haven’t had the privilege of caring for a pup. I currently have a 13 year old miniature dachshund, Jack- I’ve cared for him as a puppy and now as a senior. He is, undoubtedly, my best friend. I have two pup nephews and a niece. Hercules is a three-legged terrier mix and an absolute ball of excitement. Odin is a half blind lab mix, who loves squeaky toys and chasing squirrels. Stella might be anxious, but she is fun-loving yellow lab mix. My pups don’t know they’re different, and I don’t treat them as if they are! All pups under my care will receive nothing short of love, fun, and as many treats and toys that the pet store has to offer! I will wholeheartedly love your dogs as if they’re my own! I also have an 11 year old cat, Dennis, and have cared for him since he was a kitten! I am able to care for both cats and dogs!

Shelby LOVES her animals. She has watched my dog Stella on multiple occasions to include week long trips. She’s very compassionate and loves taking pups on runs. Sometimes she’ll even have a full on photo shoot with her and send me pictures. Shelby is very responsible and mature and I always have full confidence in my dogs wellbeing when she’s in shelbys hands.
Shelby is our favorite dog walker! She always arrives on time which I really appreciate. On her first visit, she asked about my pup’s routine, if he like to run or just walk, was he easily distracted, etc. She customized their walk based on what my dog likes to do. So instead of just a walk around the neighborhood, she took him to the dog park so he could run and fetch and hang out with other pups. It was great to see she cared about making my dog happy.
Shelby is just amazing! We had never used a dog walker before but we with kids and school, we just needed a little help. Not only did Shelby give our two fur babies all the love and attention they needed. She kept us in informed & sent us pictures. She even brought homemade doggie treats which my pups loved. We really appreciated her attentiveness and genuine love of animals. We would definitely have Shelby care for our fur babies again.

I have a fenced in yard with plenty of room for your fur baby to run around. I live in a dog-friendly neighborhood downtown Birmingham with sidewalks on every street. There is a dog park a short walk away that your pup will love! For visits and walks at your home, I am willing to drive 20 minutes from downtown! On all of my walks, I carry a collapsible bowl with water so your fur baby will always be hydrated!

A typical day

Availability
I’m currently a Junior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham studying Psychology, while contracted with the Air Force Reserves. I have Air Force every morning Tuesday-Friday, but I am free in the afternoons and on the weekends. With most of my classes being online, I have plenty of time to care for your fur babies!
