Animals have been an integral part of my life since I was a small child. Growing up, I have always had dogs and cats in the house. I have also raised infant cats and currently care for a geriatric dog. I am known amongst my peers and family as an animal lover and love making friends with new pups (and kitties)!

Shelby is AWESOME. I was so hesitant to leave my old man with a stranger when my orignal plans fell through at the last minute but Shelby was so kind. They sent me lots of pictures and updates and soothed my separation anxiety. Shelby took really excellent care of my dog and made him comfortable and happy. 10/10 experience.
Shelby has taught me so much about animals, especially dogs! When I would have troubles with my Pyrenees mix, I knew I could ask them about what to do. I trust them immensely with my pets, and I can't recommend them more for dog sitting!

I have experience working with dogs of many different temperaments. Depending in the animal, we may spend a lot of time playing, cuddling, or just chilling. I love listening to your furbabies when they are telling me all about how to interact with them through their body language and give them the most positive experience possible. I also, of course, take into account what each pet parent asks of me and make sure to ask relevant questions when needed.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or notable behaviors I should look out for. I want to make their time with me as fun and as comfortable as possible, and this kind of information can help me accomplish that! Please be aware that I myself have a dog and there are cats in the house, and let me know if there may be potential issues with that as well.
A typical day
A day in our life usually starts with some love, a walk/potty break, and then breakfast! We take any morning medicine needed at this time unless otherwise specified. After that, the people in the house will usually go to work. If I myself am not in the house, either my fiancé or our roommate is home pretty much at all times due to our work schedules, so this doesn’t mean that your furbaby is all alone. We may either spend some time relaxing after breakfast if there is no work, or go out on a long adventure if your canine companion seems game. We also have plenty of toys for indoor play. We love to go on walks around the metro parks. Dogs will typically be walked directly after I get home from work, and fed according to any further instructions given. Night time medication will be given at this time unless otherwise directed. Of course, I will prioritize any routine left for your pet as far as specifics go.

Availability
I care for my own pets daily, between work and errands. On Tuesdays and Saturdays of each week, I am off work and am available most of the day on those days to look after your pets. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the way that Rover structures it’s fees, when you create a pickup window for your pet it is important that you stick to the time that you have input into the app. Failure to pick up your pet within a timely manner will incur a daycare fee of $25. There is a 2 hour grace period (i.e, if your pickup window is 12pm - 2pm, then this fee will be charged if your pet is still in my care at 4pm). This is so that I can be properly compensated for my time accurately.
