Pet care experience
I'm home 22 out of 24 hours in the day. I've had at least 4 pets at all times for as long as I can remember. From dogs, to cats, bantam chickens, lop-eared and Angora bunnies, hamsters, African frogs, turtles, to my sweet potbelly pig, Carnita ("Nita"). Life feels fullest when animals are part of my daily routine. Recently, my Nita unexpectedly passed away (10/26/23). She was like a child to me. Although she left behind 1 dog and 2 cats, the house feels much emptier. Buddy, the dog, says he'd love some company to pick up the mood & keep his heart young. 😌
Reviews
Shelby was fantastic! She was so loving with our Ruby and took great care of her. Highly recommend!
Shelby has a great personality and cares about all pets. My dog Beibei didn’t want to leave her house after they spend a week together. Beibei had a great time and we’ll see you soon. Highly recommend Shelby! Thank you!
We love Shelby. She treats my Nina as if she were her own. This is our second stay and I feel so secure knowing Nina is with Shelby and Buddy! Thank you Shelby ❤️
Shelby was great at communicating with us while we were out of town, is very friendly and accommodating. She is easy to work with and gets back to you in a timely manner.

I live in a small gated community in Vero Beach. My yard is not fenced; however, I can/do leash them up as often as needed for potty breaks and longer walks 1-2x daily (anywhere from 1.5-4 miles each go). I run too. My own dog is a little beyond his running days, so I use a jogger. Depending on your pup's activity level, they could run alongside me, or possibly hitch a ride in the stroller! In Your Home (house sitting or drop ins): I am happy to abide by your current schedule, making the transition of your trip easy on your fur babies. I am also resourceful, and will find the best outdoor fun for them, in the case that they need some fun distractions to tire them out!

Information Shelby M. would like to know about your pet
- Pls let me know about medications/schedules, pre-existing conditions. Of course, I want to make your little (or not-so-little) one as comfy as they can be while staying at Camp Shelby — learning about any of their current preferences or special rituals you like to do with them at home would be super helpful. - If you're working on specific skills (behavioral, obedience, agility, etc) please let me know how I can incorporate into their time with me. I understand how difficult it can be to be making headway, have a last minute trip, and then have to backtrack and reintegrate upon return. I'm happy to use specific commands and reinforce your current "curriculum"! - Please ensure that your little nuggets are current on their monthly flea/tick treatments/meds and of course all other vaccines. - It'd be lovely if they came with clipped, but dull nails (either naturally from pavement or filed). - Also if they brought their favorite ball, chew toy, or other lovey.
A typical day
I live in a small gated community with trail access to adjacent neighborhoods to walk, jog, or ride in. I like to jog almost every day; depending on age & activity level, yours can either jog alongside me, or hop in the doggie stroller and let their ears blow in the breeze! My yard is *not* fenced on all sides (yet), however; I have the time/ability to leash them up for as many excursions as needed. I am a stickler when it comes to potty breaks and walks with my own pup -- so it's no problem at all. I'm an active person, myself, so if yours likes to play fetch, I'll gladly grab the chuck-it and take them to the dog park too in the mornings too!
