Pet care experience
I am a 30 year old graphic designer and am currently home full time. I’ve had animals growing up, and I believe that they are just as important as humans. I have experience with puppies, kittens, and both large and small dogs. I’d love to take care of your animals so you have peace of mind when you’re away from them. I will do my absolute best to make sure your animal feels safe, comforted, and happy when in my care. I am also married and my husband is home full time with our 4 year old dog and 5 year old friendly cat! We live in McHenry in our house with a big yard and field next door. There’s also plenty of dog parks around your pups could enjoy with your permission. Please reach out with any questions or concerns!

Highly Highly recommend!!! Shelby & Ian did an excellent job watching Jack. They were very accommodating and made Jack welcome in their home. Dog owners themselves, Shelby and Ian not only understand the details that come with caring for a pet, they really do adore animals. They treated Jack as if he were their own—with great care, respect and love. Easy to schedule and Exceptional communication including daily photos. Shelby boarded our 60 pound golden-retriever/collie mix, Piper at her house for two weeks. We recently adopted her just a couple of months before our already planned vacation. We haven’t had a dog in over 10 years and as many of you dog lovers know, we did not want to place her in a kennel for that long. We discovered Rover where we found Shelby. She had all 5 star reviews as well as lived close by. We set up a meet and greet with her own dog and cat which went very well. She sent pictures every other day along with cute comments which we very much appreciated. She exceeded our expectations and eased our worries. We will definitely use her again if she is available. Very highly recommended!
Shelby and her husband dropped in on my 2 dogs(both mixed, 1 is still in puppy mode) 3x while I was gone. Excellent communication, great pics, awesome care. Highly recommend and will definitely ask them to drop in again in the future!

I understand that a new environment can be stressful for a pet. I encourage meet and greets prior to bookings which helps break the ice and gets your pet familiar with our place. If at any point your pet seems to be stressed out, I will ensure I spend quiet time with him or her in a separate room and keep my pets separated until he/she warms up. I’ve never had this issue, but am readily prepared to handle it.

When booking a stay, it’s great to have any favorite toys, treats, and blankets for your pup to have here. I especially respect and am cautious of any dietary or physical restrictions. Past guests have put together a sheet of notes with feeding time, normal routine potty times, etc. This helps me create a routine with them that seems familiar to them.
A typical day
I believe daily mental and physical activity is extremely important for dogs. Walks and play time are a crucial part of our every day and we will include your pet in our routine walks around the neighborhood and in our huge field next to our house.

I’m home full time and already take care of our dog and cat daily and can easily take care of yours as well! We do multiple walks a day, plenty of play time, and treats!
