Pet care experience
I've been a dog lover since I was little - I started at summer camps for kids with Jax Humane and when old enough, started volunteering there and at SAFE, both cleaning cat rooms and playing with kitties, as well as walking pups and monitoring small play groups. My first job was doing the exact same thing, watching pups and dogs in a boarding/daycare facility - and after that, I spent two full years as a pet bather and daycare supervisor. I've watched my family and friends pets on the side for short and long periods of time, and also offer nail trimming and grinding to every pet I see!

I've been with Shelby since she worked with Petsmart years ago, where we met when she first bathed my pup and trimmed her nails - now she comes to our house and entertains our girl while we're busy at work, and makes sure Bonnie has someone to play with to get all that energy out so we can get some ZZZs when we get off. Bonnie loves her Shelby time and doesn't mind her nails being done any more at all, which is such a big change from how she used to act years ago, and is super awesome, because our big girl can be a little clumsy with her big paws!
Shelby has been taking care of my dogs for the past few months and I'm so happy to say that every time she comes to pick them up for their walks, they run straight to the door!! They definitely love to see her and she always has a treat ready and waiting for them to "sit" and get their leashes on. Then its go go GO. She has really turned their leash manners around and they listen to her so well. I'm so glad to have Shelby as our dog walker!
I have known Shelby for about a decade now... She has always shown a passion for animals starting with volunteering at the human society, to pet sitting, working as a groomer, etc. Shelby is always who I call when I go on a trip because she is the only person I trust to watch my babies (my shih-tzu and Rottweiler). She can handle it all. I am lucky to have known her and to have her as a contact for watching, feeding, walking, and sometimes even grooming my pup(s). She would be a great addition for Rover.
Shelby’s is an amazing person! She’s helped me with my older Chiweenie “Boots age 13+” when he needed his nails clipped she did an excellent job. Shelby has also dog/cat sat for me when i’ve been out of town on vacation. Shelby is an overall great person and a wonderful neighbor. 😊

I've been working with animals in a variety of settings and professions, and I have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to animal behavior. I pride myself on keeping control of even the largest, rowdiest dogs, and keeping them entertained, loved on, and well-cared for, down to the tiniest, yappiest pup! I'm more than happy to play with them in their own personal yard, walk them around your neighborhood, or even take them on a ride around town to get a pup cup on a hot day!

If your dog has any allergies, or would need any medications administered during the visit, please be sure to detail those beforehand, as well as any behaviors like animal-reactivity, harsh leash pulling, being defensive for nail trims, etc.! Anything you know about your pup, I want to know too!
A typical day
When walking dogs, it's all about their - and YOUR - comfort level! If your pup isn't the mosey-about and smell the roses sort, I'm more than happy to lounge about and play tug of war or toss a ball a few times for them! If they love pups, my best boy Jasper is always happy for a playmate too! Or if your fur-kid is a solo sniffer, we can go on a walk anywhere from a half mile to three! I have collapsible dog bowls for water and always make sure to bring plenty for the pups in my care, no matter what we have planned for the day!

Availability
I work part time currently, and very short hours, so I'm available at really any hour! I have three dogs of my own, so I like having the ability to create my own schedule to give my pups - and each one of my clients pups - the utmost care they can receive!
