Pet care experience
I’ve been around animals since I was a kid growing up on a farm with goats and chickens. I’ve been a cat mom for 6 years now to my Tommy T. My long time childhood dog, Teddy, passed away a couple years ago at the age of 15. Teddy required some extra care and love in his old age, as he stopped being able to control his bladder, was hard of hearing, and couldn't jump up on the couch anymore. I am very alert when it comes to paying attention to animals and noticing when things are wrong, i.e., if the animal is overwhelmed, anxious/stressed, etc. I have watched a ton of cats with a range of personalities and temperaments (friendly, skid-dish, playful, mellow, feisty, and the ones who get the zoomies!). I have also taken care of and walked countless dogs of all different breeds and sizes—Chihuahuas, Chow Chows, Rottweilers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepard's, you name it! I love meeting new pets, there is nothing better than that feeling when a cat/dog warms up to you and begins to trust you!
Reviews
I had the pleasure of hiring Shelpy this weeken when my usual dog walker was sick. When I sent her a booking request she repied and excepted almost immediatly. The communication was seemless. After her walk with my dog shadow she sent me a note saying how great he was and a video of their walk. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Shelby.
Sheblay was super nice to my high energy and jumpy dog, sent great updates on the walk and loved the photos!
Sheblay took care of my two cats for a week and was great through the whole process. Very communicative, understanding when weather changed my plans at the last minute, and she did a great job taking care of the cats. I could tell she loves animals!
We’ve adopted Sheblay. She’s kind and loving to the pups, and they adore her. She’s dependable, responsive to texts, and I trust her more than anyone with my pups.

When it comes to caring for your pet, I will dedicate myself to getting to know them and making them feel comfortable around me. My cat Tommy T requires some special care since he doesn’t have any teeth (he has 4 to be exact), which means three times a day I soak and mash up his food so that he can eat it. I am very familiar with giving pets oral medications—my Tommy T had to take a lot of them when he underwent his mouth surgeries. I spend most of my day with my cat in my lap while I do work. He is a very cuddly and affectionate boy!
Information Sheblay C. would like to know about your pet
- I’d like to know the size of your dog - If he/she can walk on a leash (do they pull?) - If they are potty trained - If they know basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and heel - Any other special facts or oddities (Like they try to escape the house any time you open the door! My cat is a runner so I have to be careful when opening doors, for example.). For cats—let me know your cats temperament! Do they like cuddles? Are they skiddish? Do they have any hiding spots? Etc.
A typical day
There are a lot of great parks in the area. Depending on where you live, I'll take your dog to a close by dog park, run around with him/her in the backyard, throw balls, or play catch. Let me know what your dog enjoys best! For a walk, I can scope out the area to see if there are any parks within walking distance or just get a nice walk in around the neighborhood. I can usually get a mile or more walked during a 30 minute time slot—depending on how often your dog likes to stop and smell the roses (i.e., take a pee!).

Availability
I started doing pet care because I work from home and have a lot of flexibility—I am a full-time technical writer/editor and student pursuing a Master's in English. Working from home gets lonely sometimes and taking care of animals is a great opportunity for me to get out of the house and even get some exercise walking dogs! The flexibility of my day job allows me to dedicate more time to checking in and walking other peoples animals. I can even make myself available last minute in case you need a sitter ASAP with little notice!
