Certified crazy cat (and dog) lady!
Pet care experience
I have had a deep love for animals my entire life. While studying at UofA, I began volunteering at a cat shelter in Tucson, The Hermitage No-Kill Shelter and Sanctuary, and have worked with cats from 3 weeks old until 20 years. I fostered three bottle-fed kittens, go to the shelter to rehabilitate and socialize the cats, and spend time with special needs cats of all kinds (FeLV+, FIV+, blind, diabetes, allergy, etc.). Though I have since graduated from UA, I continue to volunteer weekly at the Hermitage. I have worked with dogs from puppy age to older pups, but not in a shelter setting. My family cats (that do not currently live with me) I have raised from a year old, Licorice, now 17, and Mouse, from 3 months old to now 2.5. I have had two family dogs: Luka, a Black Russian Terrier we adopted at 3 months who lived to be 10 years old, and Teddy, an Airedale Terrier, who is 2! Currently in my free time I volunteer at the cat shelter weekly, foster kittens when I am available, and cat, dog, and house-sit regular and new clients. I am very comfortable with special needs animals and would love to meet your fur babies!
Reviews
Shayna is the most caring loving pet caregiver I know. She cares for each one of her clients pets like her own and has a cat at home she cares for constantly.
Shayna is the best! If you are looking for a very caring, professional and responsible helper to look after your pets and home, you will be happy hiring her. Shayna took excellent care of our beloved feline and aquatic animals for a full week and gave us wonderfully detailed updates. Reliability and trustworthiness are Shayna’s M.O. and the reason we’ll definitely reach out to her again for our family’s pet and house sitting needs.
When I met Shayna it instantly became clear how determined she was to be a loving caregiver for all animals. Whether it be her family’s pets, my dog, or the animals she helps at a shelter, Shayna interacts with them in a way that can only be described as loving, nurturing and responsible.

A typical day
I love to go on walks with pretty scenery, so taking a dog to any of Tucson's parks is one of my favorite things! I am a UofA alum, so I always love to walk or play on the UA Mall. I also love playing fetch or tug of war with any of your dog's favorite toys!
