Pet care experience
I started in shelter work when I was 16, and have been in Veterinary Care since. Currently I work at an Emergency Hospital as an assistant, but started with fostering kittens, anxious dogs and several senior cats. I am confident in giving medications, fluids and taking care of diabetic animals- and am always happy to get to know a senior animal. I can easily to do check-ins on cats, go on long walks or even days out at the lake with your (hopefully vaccinated) energetic puppy. Typically I am available 4 days out of the week, currently Mondays-Wednesday’s for boarding and walks, as well as Saturdays for walks during the day. Thursday, Friday and Sunday I can do morning check-ins!
Reviews
Daffodil has a wonderful understanding of animals and their needs. They've always exhibited a compassion for and understanding of the needs of our special furrbabies. I so much recommend the care that is provided by Daffodil and the knowledge they bring to the business of pet care. Your furrbabies will be treated and regarded as family, no doubt about it!
Daffodil is one of the most caring people i know. She loves all animals and is very responsible with them. I would trust her with my dog and all my cats anytime.

First of all, I will happily care for anything. We all love dogs, I am happy to walk anything that is well leash trained. Has good recall and does not pull, I am pretty small..so small dogs are my go to. Cats I usually do 1-2 visits a day, depending on the cat I will spend some time with them and play. Your chickens need checking in on? Got it. Your bunny needs 2 visits a day? No problem. As far as Safety, I prefer to meet with parents and their dogs together for the first time. It’s crucial that you are completely transparent with your pups triggers, toy/food motivations and routine. I work in Veterinary care, so I am well versed in what to do in case of emergency. I take proper caution with environmental stressors such as heat, and will always have a bottle of water for your pup on walks. I am able to do boarding for small-medium dogs that are %100 okay with cats. I have 2, 3 year old cats who love dogs- but aren’t all up in their business.

Information Shayla "Daffodil" H. would like to know about your pet
If they are reactive to dogs, any other animals, cars etc. It’s also important for me to know what gets their attention easily, if they have good recall that’s great! If not, do let me know if specific treats, words, etc get your dogs attention quick. Other stressors such as specific body parts they don’t like being touched (feet, ears etc)- if they are anxious with people reaching over their head or approaching them from behind. It is especially important I know if they have guarding tendencies, such as protecting toys or food from people or other dogs. If your dog is the type to bark, a kiddo who uses their voice frequently is perfectly normal, but important for me to know if they are acting normal or if they are anxious. If your dog is over 30 pounds and pulls on a leash, it might be best to go with a different walker simply because I am small.

Let me know what activities your pal loves and I’ll do my absolute best to incorporate them into our visits! I love to walk around cheesman park with pups who aren’t dog reactive, and for one’s who are I make a long walk around the neighborhood work. If you are comfortable I am also happy to plan days out at local lakes and hikes. I also think it’s important for cats who enjoy play to have that stimulation while their people are gone, so anytime I cat-sit I spend time letting them chase string toys, or just hang around and give pets for a little bit for the kiddos who aren’t so active. Even with pocket pets I find it very important to provide past times, so any resources I have to make your pet happy and comfortable I will use :)

I work for a Veterinary Emergency Company 3 days out of the week, and I moved to Denver from Boulder last year. Since then I’ve realized I missed having this in my routine, looking to add some pet fun into my life.
