Pet care experience
I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember! My family owned a poodle and labradoodle while I was growing up. Fast track to when I was 17 and worked for a year and a half at the renowned Dr. Dave’s Doggy Daycare in Saratoga! There, I was professionally trained to take care of dogs in large groups, read body language, and always prioritize safety. I am now an environmental consultant working in San Jose after graduating from UC Santa Barbara! Since I work full time, I can’t get my own dog, so doing Rover is the next best thing! Using my services, you can expect utmost professionalism, constant prioritization of your dogs safety, PLENTY of exercise ( I love long walks, runs, and hikes), consistent updates on what your dog is up to, honesty, and clear, fast communication. In addition, I'll provide them with all the butt scratches they need! You can count on me and be comfortable with your dog in my care :)

Shay is perfect person for my baby Puffy…. Puffy is super introvert dog. Shay understands that and he took an awesome care of Puffy. I highly recommend Shay to everyone who wants A+ grade care for their four legs babies.
Shay was awesome with our dog, Nala, during her two night stay with him. Shay made sure to walk Nala multiple times, play fetch with her, and even took her out to lunch when he needed to go out to make sure she wasn’t lonely at home. He was very responsive and responded immediately to our request for the stay, as well as throughout. He sent tons of pictures and updates to let us know she was doing well. We came back to a happy, well taken care of, and well exercised dog. We would definitely recommend Shay and book a future stay with him.
Shay is a wonderful and down to earth person who has nothing but love for animals! His work ethic is great and will always put your dog first. He doesnt just do this as a job, he thoroughly enjoys being with doggos and puppers to make sure they get the attention they deserve! <3

In my home, I will take dogs out into the courtyard for potty breaks and up to 4 miles of exercise per day depending on your dog’s energy level. My apartment courtyard and neighborhood are in Campbell, fenced, and very safe.

Information Shay P. would like to know about your pet
I'm basically okay with any breed or age of dog! As long as your dog isn't overly aggressive, I'll be happy to spend time with them. I have experience taking care of both very young puppies and very old, handicapped dogs. When we do a meet & greet, please be prepared to give me the following info about your dog: 1. Age and Breed 2. Type of food and food schedule 3. The dog's characteristics (ex. Is he nippy and energetic or not mouthy and calm? What games does he play?) 4. Will I be needing any extra materials for your dog? 5. Any details about entering/exiting your home (shoes off? which doors should I lock?) 6. Anything else you think I should know or any questions you have about me!
A typical day
I will take your dog on walks around the neighborhood and depending on your area, I'd prefer to take your dog on walks through grassy areas like parks where the ground is more comfortable for your dog's paws! We will play fetch or play tug-o-war and if your dog loves squeaky toys (many are crazy about them), I'll throw it for them non-stop! I can also effectively and safely manage groups of dogs interacting so if you want to have a little dog get-together, I can keep every dog safe even if they're rowdy!

Availability
I work full time and am only available after 5 pm on weekdays and throughout all weekend days. Any time I am free, I like to stay active and would love to take your pup/dog with me if possible- hikes, walks, runs, parks, beaches (with a bath after), and more!
