Pet care experience
I have been working with animals in a professional capacity for over 20 years. I previously worked in an animal hospital and began pet sitting for clients in their home during my time there. I continued pet sitting for 15 years and eventually stopped because I moved out of state.

I could not ask for someone better to drop in and check on my boys. I'm so thankful I came across her. She sent pictures and a video, and left me a note with each check-in. It put my mind at ease. Will for sure be using in the future again.
Our dog had a great time with Shay & Ken & Ann B. The setup is nice with a large back yard and he was their only extra guest. At home, he has all of our attention and expects a lot of attention wherever he visits. They handled him well through a rough night where he was too excited to settle and he got plenty of exercise. Plenty of updates and pictures were provided. We hope to use them again in the future.
Shay and Ken have been fantastic, reliable foster parents for the Lawrence Humane Society for the past two years! They are extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior and care, and have previously assisted our shelter with numerous behaviorally challenging dogs, cats, and kittens.
Shay has positive energy and a special heart just for animals. She is reliable and dependable and will always go the extra mile to give a dog that personal touch, whether it's an extra walk, a brush of their coat or lots of pets.

I like to do a meet and greet prior to our first visit, so I can go over your pet's needs to ensure that they receive the same quality of care they are accustomed to. I will also communicate with you and send fun pictures!

I will need to know the basics on your dog's abilities and preferences, such as preferred potty places, whether or not they like other animals, if they have any triggers that make them nervous on walks, what forms of positive reinforcement work best, etc. These are all things we'll cover during the meet and greet!
A typical day
I am new to the area and looking forward to meeting new friends - both human and furry! I live in the North Beach section and happy to go exploring in the region. I am especially looking forward to potential hiking and beach walks with new buddies!
