Pet care experience
I grew up with cats and dogs both in my home and the homes of close family members, and currently own one cat. I have extensive experience caring for both cats and dogs, and worked at a grooming salon for over 3 years. This means I’m very experienced in caring for dogs of all sizes and ages, including dogs with special needs. I’m also experienced in administering medications to both dogs and cats. My availability is typically early-mid mornings, and early afternoons. I love being around and walking/playing with animals, and miss being able to work with animals all day the way I used to. I would love to take your dog for a run or to a park for play, or stop in to give your furry companions some attention and playtime at home. I am outgoing and friendly, and strive to give animals the best level of care possible!

Shawnee did an excellent job house sitting & watching our girl Missy during our vacation. This was our first time using Rover, so we weren’t sure of what to expect. But, we were absolutely thrilled knowing that Missy was well taken care of & loved while we were away. She went above & beyond to help care for Missy, and she also took excellent care of the house too! 100% would recommend!
Shawnee is fabulous! It’s so great not to worry about your pet while you’re gone and know they’re being loved on.
Shawnee is the best! Our pup is pretty nervous around new people and she actually ate while we were gone. That’s pretty impressive. This was our first experience with Rover and will certainly be booking again.
Shawnee was absolutely great with our girls. Our puppy was having an issue with her ears and Shawnee contacted me to let me know what to do when I returned from my trip. She sent photos of our girls. She also washed and dried the sheets/towels. She’s a very caring person. I would definitely recommend and use her again in the future!

I really enjoy the company and companionship that pets can provide. I can easily crate your dog if needed, and have no issues working with pets who may need a little more patience. At my home, pets are typically not alone for more than a couple hours since there’s usually somebody home most of the day. The home is quiet and not busy with many people coming and going, so it’s a great calm environment for any pet.

I love and welcome all dog breeds and sizes. I like to know any “special” information about the dog before sitting - if they have any medical issues, are/are not good with other dogs/cats/etc., and boundaries that you typically set for them (for example: they are/aren’t allowed on furniture or in certain rooms, not allowed to eat table scraps, are allowed only a certain number of treats per day, etc.). I’ve found that these preferences are different for everyone and want to make sure I can be as consistent with yours as possible!
A typical day
I enjoy walking or running on the greenway or exploring new parks/hiking trails in the area. I tend to adjust my energy level to match that of the dog I am working with so that they can get play and exercise that is fun and stimulating for them without potentially over-exerting themselves.

Availability
I currently work Wednesday through Saturday from 2pm until midnight. I’m home most of the time when I am not at work, which allows me to spend my free time with my own pets and any pets I may be caring for at the time. I also have two other people living with me, so although they won’t be responsible for pet care, it does mean that your pets will never be alone for an extended period of time.
