Pet care experience
Growing up, I had a golden retriever/cocker spaniel mix and continued to dog sit him for my parents on their camping weekends after I moved out. I've had cats with nearly every roommate, but when my husband and I moved in together, we weren't allowed any pets, so I started working for Rover in 2021. Life just isn't the same without animals around my home! I also used to volunteer as a dog walker/cat petter at an animal shelter for about a year, until I moved away from that area. We moved to Arrowbear Lake in April 2023 and adopted two wonderful kittens a few months later.

Shawna has been a lifesaver!! I was nervous leaving our dogs alone the first time but she took such great care of them. Shawna always goes above and beyond, cleaning up after the dogs, drying them off when it's raining, bringing in packages, etc. She is always flexible with dates and has extended her availability when we needed her an extra day.
Shawna is terrific! Her care and attention for my pet family supersedes my expectations. She has a gentle supportive manner with my anxious dog and my skittish cat!
Shawna was a huge help for my wife and I. She did an amazing job with our animals and I would happy work with her again.
Shawna is amazing with my male boxer mix. He settled in and literally sat on her at first meeting her! She is terrific with my very she cat as well! ?❣️

A typical day
I will stick to your routine and rules to the best of my ability to keep your pets comfortable. Depending on their temperament, your pets will get tons of playtime and love from me! I will give them all the scratches they want and, of course, stop once they've had enough. I love going for walks and exploring neighborhoods and parks, and I'm always up for a good hike if that's what your pup needs. If your pets are more low key, I'm just as happy to snuggle on a couch, hang out with them while they sunbathe in the yard, or just feed them and clean the litter box if that's how they roll.

Availability
Currently, I work two days and two evenings a week at Rimforest Animal Hospital in addition to my Rover regulars. I have a few openings for repeat visits, or I would love to help out when you go out of town. I can do short neighborhood walks or even take your dog on a hike if they have a lot of energy to burn.
